METAL GEAR 2: Solid Snake
Due to the success of the NES remake of Metal Gear, a sequel was made. Snake's
Revenge was thus born and gave players the chance to have a knife-wielding LT.
SOLID SNAKE to have his, uh, revenge or something like that.
Hideo Kojima didn't know about it until he was riding a train and some guy just
happened to mention it. Encouraged to make a true sequel, Hideo Kojima went
out of his way to make a game that defines the Metal Gear series.
No, seriously. The fact that this game runs on the MSX2 specifications is insane.
This game not only shreds Snake's Revenge a new asshole, but makes the first
Metal Gear it's crossdressing bitch.
Nobody gave a shit though because it was 1990 and the MSX2 was practically abandoned
in both the European and Asian markets. So Japan got Metal Gear 2 in limited
copies and such was such until nearly fifteen years later when Konami ported
the game to mobile phones and then a few years later to those outside of Japan.
Unfortunately by that time, western gamers were more concerned about REALISTIC
HD GRAPHIX than gameplay.
