MGS4 TROPHY PATCH CONFIRMED?! IS COMING?! Subject description: OHSHITOHSHITOHSHIT!GETYOURHOPESUPGUYS! |

Your sources better be right Andrisang! Your Japanese honor depends on it!
"Metal Gear Solid 4 will get a Trophy patch, according to an interview with Hideo Kojima in this week's Famitsu. The magazine does not reveal a date for the patch, but MGS4 is scheduled to receive a budget release in in August, so the timing could coincide with that.
The interview also reveals that Konami will hold a Metal Gear Solid 25th Anniversary Event on August 30 at Tokyo Midtown (the office complex that houses Konami's main office). There will be some sort of announcement at the this event, Kojima reveals in the interview. This announcement is apparently related to the vision he's previously shared about a game that connects people. Peace Walker's "Transfarring" component served as a test for this vision.
Unlike our other Famitsu reports, which came from our usual source, Sinobi, we're not totally sure of the source for this particular Famitsu report. We should have confirmation later in the day."

I am going to LOL so hard if Konami adds in MGO trophies... considering the servers are shut down and all...

Andriasang updated their post, they're saying it's confirmed. Other people are saying there are scans of the article out there, but I haven't seen it yet.
I wonder if the new release of MGS4 will have MGO on the disc at all. Maybe the trophy update they're gonna release for old versions of MGS4 will remove it from the main menu.

Nah, MGO won't be patched out. It might not be included in the budget version however... Or the data will be there and Konami will just lazily remove the option from the main menu. If Konami cared they might've at least patched it to be made Peer to Peer, but that's more work for no monetary incentive.
All the transfarring talk probably make me think that MGS4 Vita will be announced and this trophy patch comes with transfarring.
New Shinkawa cover for Famitsu

Budget version has trophies out the box, releases in August so that's likely when the patch will appear. Also teases of a Metal Gear Solid game releasing in 2012. Since RISING is 2013, I'd bet this will be MGS4 port for Vita with transfarring. But heck, it could just be another collection.
Though one wonders how they'll fit all that stuff onto a Vita card, obviously stuff will be cut like sound etc. Maybe multi-carts which are possible. Or Sony's gonna deliver MGS4 on a larger Vita card just like it was the first game on a 50GB blu-ray.

If the patch doesn't retroactively award trophies, that would be turds. Unlocking the Big Boss emblem was an ordeal, not to mention going back and getting all of the miscellaneous ones to boot.

NO MORE FUCKING INSTALLS!!!
http://andriasang.com/con1wk/mgs4_full_install/?utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=twitterfeed
The game's new PS3 the Best budget version will also feature support for full data install. This means that rather than having the game install data at the start of each chapter, which is how the game currently works, you can opt to have the game do a full install at the start of play, and have no more installations for the rest of the game.
they also launched this usesless website but it has A NEW SHINKAWA ARTWORK god bless that it wasn't a full cgi

MEGATON!!!
Although I would have preferred they streamed it from the disc, all that time talking to Naughty Dog and visiting their studio and Kojima didn't pick that up?
Installing 20GB of data is not really to my liking, but it does make it easier. This probably will come with the patch. Basically they couldn't do it before because Sony didn't allow for it. But now with full 20GB+ games on PSN, they obviously lifted those restrictions... I'll be highly amused if they announce a Vita version and it streams flawlessly...
It'd also be funny if Konami made the patch the full install data so you're downloading 20GBs to patch your friggin game. There'd be a Guinness record in that somewhere...
