Remember the grey screen of death? Since yesterday, it's no longer a problem as patch 1.02 was released for the European version of Metal Gear Solid HD Collection. Boxes appear properly on the conveyor belts in the parcel room at Strut E in Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty while playing in SD resolution, and EU users can have box merry go round fun again.

This is official Konami response to (some of) those who sent an email to their customer support:

"Thank you very much for contacting the Konami customer support team.
Also thank you for taking the time to report an error to us.

We are very sorry about being so unresponsive, but we weren´t in the position to hand out any further information.

However, we've got good news for you now. A patch fixing the of you mentioned issue has been released already and you should be able to download it whilst starting Metal Gear Solid HD Collection using your Playstation3.

In case that the problem still persists, please let us know. Sorry for the inconvenience this issue might have caused.

Best regards,

Your Konami Support Team"

As 1.02 patches happened before, this is not to be confused with the US or Japanese 1.02 patches. Does it fix the other problems that were reported? Soup's user Tetsujin has stated that he had the sea lice appearing for the first time...

Konami fixing problems? What has this world come to? What's next, a proper MGS game?

This is good, I might just get the collection if the other things are fixed too.

Wait, what there's yet to be fixed? Wasn't the sea lice and the boxes, the only problems? I'm outdated right now. I would like to get this Collection, since it's getting fixed through time, but it's still expensive as fuck.

I'd like to see the depth of field effects in cutscenes fixed because as of now, they're barely there. Everything's the same sharpness mostly. I know it's the goal of HD to make things sharper and clearer, but this really takes away some of the cinematic feel of the cutscenes.

Hmm, I see. That's actually troublesome, since MGS2 had the perfect cinematic feeling. I'm going to wait a couple more months, to see if it gets cheaper and more updates.

Any new fixed parts? Or just the ones that were reported earlier?

To our knowledge, the main and, possibly, only fix was the one affecting the E strut boxes. Some of the other random glitches in graphics, such as the sea lice, seem to still work randomly back and forth.

Probably, some trophies that glitched just the same way the boxes did, that is, they glitched when playing in SD resolution, might have been fixed too (I'm talking about some MGS3 trophies regarding looking at certain stuff during cutscenes).

Can't tell for sure as I didn't have the time to try it out myself.

Trades in PW never worked for me, now they do. Whether this has anything to do with the patch is anyone's guess.
Might have just been chance, just like the sea lice...
