I had to read that this semester for a class. It should have taken place in Dullsville, Ohio.

I have the Song of Ice and Fire books teasing me, and they will be for the next few months. I think the last book I read on my own was Lord Jim by Joseph Conrad.

Fuck you, you read it because you had to read it for school; I read for pleasure.

Mediocre motivation mars the material.

The prose in that book is masterful in its economy and rhythm and each sentence has beauty you cannot see.

Seriously--

Its a long dragged out bore of a book that over dramatizes the 'lost generation'. Then reading about people's empty lives of drinking and zzzzz

Does anyone jump into a book thinking they'll like it no matter what?

Is it that Metal Gear hentai again?

I can't really read Japanese... yet, anyway.
I study on my own time and I have my school studies getting in the way of that.
Just kidding about the studies. I'm a slacker

As for Halo, I've actually been playing it in Japanese for the Voice Dub.
You just have to switch the Xbox System Language. Try it out sometime.

That's not what I meant.

If I meant that, I would be even more of a fucking idiot.

I will call you all kinds of bad names for not thinking hard enough, silly-buns.

Ravi, your site-users need help.

Am I not evidence enough of this?

Ya know, it'd be nice of more people were more courteous toward each other, unless it's toward Jiko. Then it's a waste of time.

Were you in the chat when me and Zerim posted all that shit? lol

Just messing. I was trying to see if I could guess correctly.

I think I did.

I was going to start a thread in "Metal... Gear?", asking if anyone knew how to read Japanese, but I was hoping I could ask you or someone else so I could keep it low-key and more private.

You blew it. Way to go, ass hat.

Stop right there.

over dramatizes

Barring the fact that that's a grammar error, the book over-dramatizes nothing.

It's so matter-of-fact, its power is in its understatement.

People can't even criticize correctly anymore.

No one engage me on an intellectual level, got it?

Not because I'm smart, but because it's depressing.

I saw you link back to it in a thread about translation.
Somethink like "Maybe we can finnaly get someone to translate this."

Maybe it was on KPN.

I'm sure there are more people than just you that want to read it.

It takes me an eternity to read a book nowadays (partially because I don't read as often as I did when I was in school, but also because I just read a bit slower than some people, particularly my sister) but I enjoy many. I've recently started reading a lot more non-fiction than I previously have. Pretty weird turn for me really.
