On Valentine's Day, Metal Gear Online dumped everyone... or at least announced that it will in June. Apparently, that wasn't the only thing being terminated. The servers for Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops and its expansion Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops Plus are, too, being cut off. In fact, they will be cut off much sooner--on March 20th!

Portable Ops at least has a good-sized single player campaign. Portable Ops Plus however will be rendered useless. Yeah, there's Infinity Mode that you can still mess around in, but a lot of the incentive to go through it is to make your solders stronger and unlock items to show off online. Once again, this repeats the same problem with the expansions for Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots: online never lasts forever unless they open it for fans.

That's not all though. Love is over for some fans of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. Luckily though this has to do with Peace Walker's Vocaloid feature which I seriously doubt many of us even bothered with so... nothing of value will be missed on April 27? Does any of this have to do with the "steam" that was coming out of Kojima Productions that one dank night in Japan?

Somewhat related, some members of our forums are organizing to play the hell out of Metal Gear Online while it's still up and running. Consider this the aftermath of a breakup when you go out someplace to hang out with your bros or girlfrieeeends, just without the hangover and the realization that you had humiliating sex and know the meaning behind the term "coyote ugly" has nothing to do with a Metal Gear code name. Some sound advice can be heard from the 1990's hit from E-rotic that nobody remembers because they were on... well, E.

I remember playing MPO+. It sucked ass.
At least MGO2 is fun.

Thanks for linking back to my thread. Hopefully we can get a decent amount of people to join.

I bought a Dazzle DVC 100 off ebay so I'll be able to record everything.

I'd like to join in for teh lulz. If all my old settings are still there... Hell I don't even remember how to play it, and my level is pretty much at beginner because I never bothered playing it... In fact I believe I played a heck of a lot more of the Beta than I did the retail verison.

Who... who enjoyed MGO2? Someone, for the love of God, explain me this ''joy'' you can experience playing that game. Because all I experienced was a game run by people who scream ''fag'', consider themselves ''elite'' and spend most of their time perfecting their ''headshot!11'' technique. It's all the worst parts of Counter-Strike, magnified by a hundred.

I was hoping to have some sort of a stealth experience online with the Snake mode and Team Sneaking... but they're just glorified team deathmatch modes.

I'm waiting for a true stealth experience online that doesn't cater to assholes. Project Stealth Game is a mod that's something of a remake of Splinter Cell's online mode, so I'm looking forward to that. Hidden: Source is another mod for HL2 that did stealth well, though not exactly in the ''secret agent'' type of fashion.

I liked it because it's a simple yet fun war game, with all the varied and flexible controls of MGS4. Getting headshots is satisfying, it's cool to salute a teammate/enemy when the round ends and he/she salutes back, and you can mute players if they're saying stupid shit (the textbox is still annoying though, but most of the time it's either a non-issue or funny.)

There are stealth modes, like Team Sneaking (where one team has stealth camo and tranq. guns.) If you can find a good CQC server, it can be alot of fun.

It was the only multiplayer game on PS3 that I actually play. It was the PS3's equivalent to Halo to me.
