Well to be fair, all paper manuals nowadays are halfassed. The last manual I got that even had color was Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage last year...

Which apparently means only underrated games will have colorful manuals with colors in them. Or not, Alice: Madness returns didn't even have a paper manual, it was a fold-up slip.
Maybe it's an American thing, the US manual for MGS4 lacks color, but I hear the UK version did at least for the MGO section.

Well, my MGS4 had all color manual. And it was PAL.

I haven't experienced any bugs, and it runs pretty smoothly
There are more typos in the manual, for the MGS2 controls it says Lefts Tick and not Left stick

Don't know if these were present in the PS2-version of MGS3, but after I got my backpack I called Zero and he again told me to get it.
Also, while talking to The Boss via codec, the subtitles did not show up properly and the codec transmission didn't end until a few seconds after the conversation had ended.

On your second playthrough, try skipping the Olga Cutscenes when she says "CONFLICT AND VICTORY WERE MY PARENTS" whilst she reloads and "WHOEVER YOU ARE YOU'RE NOT SNOPPING US". Olga's half of the playing field will be blurred in game.

I just noticed that today. I'm playing on Extreme and I died in the fight with Olga. When I chose "Continue" to fight her again, it let me skip the brief cutscenes during the fight and her side was blurred. So weird.

I got the PS3 version, I've only touched MGS2 so far, and I've not finished yet, but I have to say the rerecorded voice work for the Colonel is fucking awful. If it is Paul Eiding, he must have had a cold and the recording must have been done with a shitty microphone. The difference in sound quality between old and new is highly noticable and distracting. Was any of Otacon's dialog from the Tanker chapter changed (I heard references to the L2 and R2 buttons)? If so, they did a far better job at integrating that.
I don't even get why they needed to rerecord anything, as far as I know they didn't do so for the Xbox version of Substance. Most of the changes simply substitute "Analog stick" with "Control stick", why the hell did they need to change that? Even if it was necessary for the 360 version, why bother changing it for the PS3 version that uses what is practically the same controller as the PS2?
I noticed some slowdown in Tanker hold 1 when you descend the first ladder, in the same place it happens in the PS2 version, but otherwise it has been pretty smooth so far. No invisible chopper descent ropes or invisible sea lice yet either, but I did notice a strange blocky effect on the water in Strut D. I can live with the slight codec delays, but what the fuck is up with the slow grenades?
Also, in one codec conversation in which you call the Colonel's frequency and Rose answers, if you press R1 for Raiden's thoughts after the Colonel has been put back on he continues to say "How cute" and "That's so cute I can't bear it". I don't know if that was in the original.

-What's with the water section in MGS2? it has dots everywhere... is that just me?? :S
-The sound of the Nikita missile is gone.
-The text of "PRESIDENT JOHNSON" is completely different compared to every other character introduction...
And..
-In the scene where you meet ocelot in mgs3, one of the camera angles is different to the PS2 version (why?)
-Also, certain effects have been removed (When snake CQC slams ocelot to the ground in the cut scene, lots of dirt flew up from the ground.. they are now gone)
-When he does the "MEOW" call.. a camera fade transistion effect is gone
-when sokolov burns the papers in the fire, the blur from the fire is gone..
I'm starting to think PS2 had some effects that were using it's graphics chip dedicated.
Where as ps3 doesn't have it, and emulating the effect uses alot more memory.
Btw, edit: just to let you guys know, i've heard reports that the french version of this game is IMPOSSIBLE to complete on hard, because the bomb on the parcel belt does not appear. :S
ALSO, i'm expecting a patch... when the vita version comes out to enable tranfarring.. we can be hopful until then if the bugs are fixed lol
