Talk about love

It is hard to find good friends. Then again, we all have our own definition of good, and friend. You aren't being silly with your trust issues. You take a chance when you open yourself up to another emotionally. We trust that they will be compassionate with some things, understanding with some others...but in the end to be there for us. Maybe that is possible with an older friend, someone who knows you like no other. Maybe those who had distanced themselves from you had much the same issues that they arent ready to face or talk about. Maybe they are just afraid. Maybe they know they wouldnt be of any help. There are just too many reasons. Some people just feel awkward too when you open up so much because they dont know what to say.

Of course it would be nice to trust them, but in the end we really just have ourselves most times. That shouldnt mean you should stop being who you are when you want to say how you feel, because just saying it can help, even if it does fall on deaf ears or on ears that dont give a damn. Trust yourself, thats what I say anyway., because you dont need them, or at least in the ways we can sometimes think we do. We find that out once they are gone, and we are just fine...at times even better. Some 'friends' love to hear how bad things are going, it can make them feel beter..and not everyone will be so understanding and supportive of feelings. But if they aren't happy with who they are, they could never be of any help to you anyway. I would bet if they had the courage to open up to you of their own emotions, you would be very surprised. At least you take chances, thats what life is all about.
