Will North Americans pay $30 more for MGS HD just for art?

That is the question that comes to my mind when Konami announced the Limited Edition of Metal Gear Solid: HD Collection for North America. What you get is a big box-like sleeve with 1/3rd of the Japanese Premium Package boxart packed with the standard copy of the game and a fat 248-page artbook with 3/4th the Japanese Premium Package boxart on the cover. All of this can be yours for $79.99, if Amazon's listing is reliable.

With that said, even though you are essentially paying an extra $40 for a sleeve and an artbook, you're still getting a better deal than Japan. The Premium Package which is pretty much this with the full artwork and a soundtrack CD is around $130. Earlier today we also reported that the KonamiStyle Premium Edition, also known as the Fuck Yeah, Mugs! Edition is around $200. Those doesn't even include Peace Walker HD!

The cover art alone makes it worth it to me. So much better to look at then three separate covers on one box.

I still think the japanese version is the better one. The color box art with raiden looks cool, the american one looks good too, but not quite.

A non HD game in a HD pack lame. Does anyone know if the actual US and EU games are going to be the same, like will the US versions have EE mode?
