Peace Walker confirmed for PS3? Subject description: IGN thinks JVN thinks so... |
|
According to French website JVN, in addition to crisp HD visuals, the updated version will be tailored for the PS3, taking full advantage of the Dual Shock's right analogue, which is of course absent on the PSP. There are as yet no details of it offering SIXAXIS support or stereoscopic 3D.

well... id dual analogs mean something that means CRAWL is back???
edit: i bet they might use hi-res textures since... well maybe the game may end up looking like this:
and not like this:
and maybe a extra ops mission where you can copulate with Amanda/Cecile, come on after all the bullshit on the campaign and my reward was to molest a underage girl and a weirdo (that makes snake a weirdo, and the people that enjoyed that too) and maybe randomly generated mgo soldiers for your army, each one with is own face and stuff

Probably not, but it didn't hurt to ask. |
Things seem to suggest that save files are transferable between PS3 and PSP. So likely this will be so...
I think it'll be awesome if they also bring Portable Ops over and give it an infusion of Peace Walker elements, thoguh the only real issues were the controls and with a DS3 in hand all those problems disappear.
I think it'll be even more badass if they imported the PSP assets into the MGS4 engine, updated the polygon counts and tweaked the lighting to ridiculously wonderful levels!

I like the comic booky cutscenes. They'll obviously be keeping those.
Are for using the MGS4 engine, I don't think it'll be that difficult... The PSP ports are not just direct ports, they're obviously improving the textures etc. to get them up to HD quality. They have the modesl, it'll just take a couple of guys to tweak some of them, or likely they already created the assets with higher polygons to begin with and then dropped them down.
So likely they can just use the original higher quality models. They have to redo the texture work anyways, some of the PS2 ports are getting that treatment, they don't technically have to, but likely Kojima might insist on it for a good quality product.
Anyway, despite that I say all this I have a good feeling they won't do it anyway and just try and tweak the PSP engine using whatever tools Sony has provided for making these things possible in the dev kits.
I'm guessing they'll stick with a PSP collection of Portable Ops and Peace Walker and maybe toss on the MGS1 and 2 bande desinee films they made.
They could also simultaneously announce a PS2 collection of MGS2 and 3. Rather than bundle it all for $60, they'll sell them separately for $40 each and hope to make $80. Still a good deal, but Konami will likely want to milk this for all its worth. I just hope they give us lots of extra material.
