This game has consumed my gaming life. I'm close to 190 hours clocked across all my characters now, and considering aiming for the platinum despite the annoyance it'd take. I've got a SL140 character and a SL74 in which I've played it with a coop friend in which we've stuck to certain archetypes.

I've completed it like 3 times and I have to say, it's easier than it's predecessor, very similar, yet better in most ways other than frame rate. If you liked Demon's and are considering this, I would recommend you go for it fully.

Yea, I got it on the PS3. It's difficult as bloody hell, and it certainly made angry and yell a lot. But it's also pretty addicting and it's never so difficult that it's unfair. You only die because you don't pay attention, or haven't learned the enemies patterns. I love it

I wouldn't say it's easier or harder than Demon's Souls.

I would say it made a lot of improvements, and I would also say that the occasional framerate drop sucks, although it doesn't make the game unplayable OR cause you to die.

I enjoy it more so far, although both are a blast.

In general, I say the difficulty thing, because I prefer Wanderer and Thief, and don't generally use magic at all (Magic in EITHER game makes it BABBY SNAEK EZ MODE).

Seriously, you try running through Catacombs as a level 20 Wanderer using a +6 Scimitar.

I enjoy the challenge. My ONLY complaint so far is that every person who has invaded me so far has the Ring of Fog (I think it's called) so you cannot lock on to them. While in DS I avoided locking on to enemies, it helps a lot when they're injured and running so they can't escape as easily to heal. I wish there was a way to counter it.

For that reason alone I'm considering breaking my No Magic rule and getting Poison Mist.

The good thing is that and the Slow spell are getting nerfed when the Patch comes out.
The patch requires patching though because it broken multiplayer. It'll be a while.

Yeah, I had my first run-in with some PvPers pimping the slow spell. He had a fire zwei. Came in, couldn't find us until we exposed ourselves to him, he cast the slow spell on both of us (damn host should have rushed him while he was casting on me) then came the Zwei.

Since we were slowed we couldn't dodge and you can only block like 1-2 hits from that damn thing. I blocked two and through good endurance management I was able to block (although it broke block twice) again.

Then one hit knocked me partially through a rock wall while flaming. I'm getting a toxic bow, I swear.

Apparently on January 5th a Namco official responded to a forum post by a user who wanted to see Dark Souls ported to the PC, saying it could be possible if there was enough demand for it.

As a response, fans of the series have opened a petition. In two days the petition receieved more than 36,000 signatures, and it's growing every second (seriously, go to the page and refresh after a few seconds, the numbers increase by the hundreds every time you do).

So what are you waiting for? Go to the fucking page and sign that petition!

I've been trying to create characters from MGS in Dark Souls. So Far:

Raiden: light blonde hair with appropriate features, Shadow Set (without mask), (Lightning) Iaito in right hand, Talisman (lightning spear) in left hand. Slumbering Dragoncrest Ring and Dark Wood Grain Ring.

Fatman: Smough Armor set (without legs), Heavy Boots, Pyromancy Flame in right hand, Blood Shield (looks sort of like his drink i guess) in left hand. Havels and Dark Wood Grain Ring.

The Fear: Black Ponytail, Hunter Set (without hat) Sniper Crossbow in both hands. Dark wood and Fog Ring.

Liquid Ocelot: Grey Hair, Holy Trousers, Dragon Bone Fist in right hand. Hornet Ring, Wolf Ring.

Snake: .Short Brown Hair, Thief Set (sans Mask) Priscilla's Dagger (CQC) and any catalyst (Chameleon, Hidden Body) in right hand. Slumbering DragonCrest Ring, Covetous Gold Serpent Ring.

Am I the only person that's done this?

I will sign that patition if, and only if, you agree to post videos of your rage at repeatedly dying. I mean you gotta be mad. Nail bitingly, curse spittingly, face into your PC bashingly mad. Do we have a deal?

Oh, Dark Souls. Where do I start? This might turn into a little opinion piece.

Demon's Souls is one of my favourite games on the PS3, so I was looking forward to this for a while. Got the Limited Edition box, the one with the actual CDs, a month after the release and was happy about it.

The game didn't generally disappoint me. In fact, I would say it exceeded my expectations. The amount of love that was put into this game shows-- the sights and sounds, the mood that sucks you right in. I love its dark fantasy setting and I love that it makes use of clichés because that's really what dark fantasy is at its best.

As far as the gameplay goes, I'll say what I said about Demon's Souls way back in this thread. It's not as difficult as people make it out to be. The fact is that if you just want to get through the game, it is crazy-easy and it baffled me that people said it wasn't easy. This isn't a complaint, the game is fun. That's why I invested so many hours into it. I enjoyed every second of it but once you know what to get and what to do, it's easy. I barely ever died and got through most areas and bosses on my first or second attempts.

If you have the time and desire to go through NG+ and beyond, then it might be a bit of a challenge for you but personally, I'm not interested in NG+. I might be if I want to replay the game a few months or years from now but I don't like playing the same game over right after I finish it, just so that it might be slightly more challenging.

Beautiful game. Hours of fun.

The difficulty comes entirely from scaling equipment. I used the bottomless box glitch and it turned the whole game into a cakewalk. Until Anor Londo, which is where i was on my previous character.

edit:
