The point is to make incredibly old games accessible to newer generations. Not that a bunch of retarded MG fans who own all the games want to play the older ones on PC.
Anyway, the reasoning for the MGS3:S is for the newer script and graphics on the older games.

So I changed the walk to a run (like I said I'd do). It's missing one final transitional frame, but the basic rough loop is done. It'll have to be cleaned up and have that final frame added, but it looks nicer than the old walking one (though the only problem the walk had was the positioning of the feet...easily fixable!).
I also have Punch-Punch-Kick, animations for getting Hurt in all three stances, Back-to-Wall for Standing & Crouched, and I tweaked the Crawling frames. So no, since the last thing I posted, this isn't ALL that I've done (I actually only started on the Running frames a few hours ago).
I've actually got a weekend off, so I'm gonna try to finish up the last of these sideway-facing ones (the left-facing frames aren't just mirrored - Snake ALWAYS punches with his left hand first, ALWAYS kicks with his left leg, ALWAYS crouches on his left knee, ONLY has a pistol on his right thigh, etc.).
Gives me yah criticisms!

Alright, I added that missing frame and reshuffled the body layers to make the height of each frame consistent with the leg motions. The issue there was that I accidentally kept both legs on the same baseline, leaving no sense of depth between them and causing his body to bob - I just realigned each frame to keep the left & right feet aligned on themselves and not the others...
...kinda hard to explain. Just refresh your browser and look at the image again, as I simply altered, re-saved and re-uploaded it.
Also, the final version has the bandana tails fluttering behind as well.

Maybe...the thing I really try to avoid with my art is over-exaggeration when it comes to mannerisms and motion. Like, for instance, MGS2. Snake breathes so deeply that he looks like he's on the verge of a heart attack, or how Raiden flails his arms while standing still - he looks like he's treading water or something.
I prefer more subtlety than drama. In MGS1, Snake doesn't raise his arms above waist-level while running, and instead brings them in front of his stomach, whereas in MGS2, he all-out pumps them forward and up. I prefer the less dramatic motion of MGS1 than the over-dramatic MGS2 movements, Raiden's in particular.
This is also Snake specifically. Other characters will move differently according to their personality. For instance, I gave Snake the classic MGS1 kick, whereas Fox gets the MGS2 spin-kick. Running Man does an all-out sprint whereas Snake only does a hard jog.
Again though, very little is actually "finished." Even the stuff that's more or less "done" is still broken down into individual layers. For instance, in that 7-frame running animation, every single piece of Snake's body in all 7 frames are a unique individual layer. If everything is perfect except a single frame of his left foot, I can edit that one single foot specifically, so everything's still capable of being tweaked and changed at any time.
