I like valves a lot. I think that the ability to regulate the flow of a fluid is one of the greatest inventions mankind has come up with. It's especially cool when it's a one-way valve thing that lets water out, but not back in.

Meh, I'm more of a pump man myself. Bivalves are pretty cool though, especially clams.

Team Fortress 2.....I've never played it, and may never get the chance, but I so enjoy the characters in the game. Plus I saw some people cosplaying as Spy, Scout, and Sniper when I was at Anime Detour earlier this month. But no Heavy, unfortunately.

Valve's alright.

Considering how phenomenal Portal 2's singleplayer was (and the fact that Episode 3 needs to hurry the fuck up), I'm scared about this.

I think it is an unrealistic expectation to say that every single one of their games will be lacking a single player element. Play any online game and you're bound to run into an asshole in less than an hour. That and requiring players to have a decent internet connection to play their games in any form is a bad buisness decision; goto any look at any 3rd party developer that uses Steam for distribution and check the forums, you'll see dozens of people that are angry as it is that they need to log onto Steam to play a game.

I think Kotaku is getting things wrong.

"Portal 2 will probably be Valve's last game with an isolated single-player experience," Keighley wrote in Final Hours, "What this all means is something Newell is still trying to figure out."

I assume isolated single-player experience means NO online at all? Like Portal?
Half Life 2 doesn't count as isolated single-player experience either, considering it had online.

Kotaku is dumb.

If that were the case, why call Portal 2 their "last" if that had online?

Not really. Half-Life 2: Deathmatch was sold separately.

I hope so.

Exactly. And I don't see why it's hard to believe. Adding a mutliplayer component to every game (or at least the option) means more people will buy the game, since a lot of people will just watch their friends play and give comments and advice, and not buy the game themselves. As soon as you add multiplayer it becomes a social thing, which will spread influence.

I mean, Mario Galaxy had multiplayer, with the one player just fiddling around with the environment. Gabe will figure it out, don't sweat it

Portal 2 was fucking awesome man. Fucking. Dick-shitting. Awesome.

EPISODE 3 ALREADY GAIZ! Don't fucking tease us with the Borealis's life rafts in Portal 2 and not make Episode 3 yet! I pray to whatever deity there could maybe be out there that Valve announces Ep. 3 this E3. Fuck bro, I'd cream my goddamn pants. Too bad it apparently wont happen until Portal 3 or something, I dunno. Fuck.

Also, to folks who beat Portal 2, are you as bummed as I was that we didn't see a Combine ship fly past Wheatley in space? Icing on the cake dog, that's what it woulda been.

Oh, and while I haven't played through the co-op yet, I already read about what little happens pltowise. So I'm assuming you'd play as one of the hundred humans removed from stasis at the end by GLaDOS in the potential Portal 3? I'm really hoping for no more Chell. She just needs to appear in HL at this point.

If you don't have access to broadband internet in this day and age that is your fault and you should be punished for it.
