Shadows of the Empire. It was an N64 game.

The Disruptor hurts the Wii so they can't properly emulate it for Virtual Console.

Oh yeah! I remember it (but on PC). Novel was better.

EDIT: I might have to correct that...I really don't remember how good the prose was in the book. What I remember to be good could actually be bad.

The game focused too much on a Han Solo rip-off with a hint of Big Boss and the novel focused too much on Leia's sexual frustrations.

Shadows of the Empire was OK for the time as an N64 game, but it's pretty weak and the way they tried to shoehorn the main character into places like Hoth didn't really make any sense. I remember the big deal about the novel coming out though, along with the Heir to the Empire trilogy made the franchise a big deal again in the 90's. Which is annoying since it probably made crazy old George think more about creating the "special" editions and prequels. There a much better games to have come out of this series though, mostly on PC.

But what I mean is, they're just bonus material for the rabid fans. No one needs to know every single detail about what happened and how in order to grasp what's going on in the movies.

According to the EU Emperor Palpatine didn't actually die at the end of Episode VI, he had a shitload of clones that eventually regained control of the Empire. Luke Skywalker then becomes his apprentice in order to destroy him from the inside, but it becomes fucking hard as the dark side starts to take control of him.

Then some other shit happens that I don't remember; apparently some robot dude sacrifices himself to kill Palpatine once and for all.

I'm not making this up. Really.

Wait wait wait....

Luke Skywalker turns to the dark side?!
Well then, that's one less piece of EU material in my D-Canon.

Edit: Wait, from what I read, that was just a diversion so he could defeat the cloned emperor. He has allot of internal struggle but manages to pull through... is that right?

Well, that doesn't sound too bad... I guess.

But if the Emperor only lived on through clones... then yeah, he DID die at the end of VI. He just possessed clone bodies.
Although, that does kind of ruin the story of how Darth Plagueis achieved immortality until he was killed by Palpetine (which played a major role in Anakin's fall to the dark side.) But the prequels don't exist in D-Canon so fuck that.

Edit 2: Wait, is that how Starkiller in FUII can remember shit about his original self?
Anyway, now that I think about it, the "Fett survived thanks to his super special Mandalorean armor" thing works. I'm including some shit that takes place after Episode VI, and since some stories in Omnibus: Boba Fett takes place after VI (meaning going by my old rule, I would have to ignore part of what I bought), why not?

Edit 3: So, I finally picked up the Force Unleashed, after waiting so long to play it. haha

Hopefully it fits my D-Canon criteria.

It should.

It's actually a side effect of the quick cloning process or some oddball, last minute reasoning like that.

Define "didn't actually die." Because if he was just cloned and has his spirit living in clone bodies, then I don't think that means he survived being thrown into the second Death Star's core. That's like saying Liquid didn't die at Shadow Moses because Ocelot had Liquid's arm grafted to him (pre-MGS4's "explanation.")

I noticed that one of the Jedi's you're sent to kill took part in the Clone Wars, and the use of clones on the Jedi's side was mentioned. But other than that, nothing too prequel-ish so far.

Man, the tech in this game is annoying me. I hate games that have enemies/debris disappear after a few seconds.

Well, the first 3 are about anakin skywalker. The second 3 are about Luke Skywalker. This is just one story. True, you don't need to know Dash Rendars relationship with IG88 to know about the 6 movies.

The star wars universe has became a huge thing. EVERYTHING has a backstory.
But my point is, if you don't want to dedicate time to understand the ENTIRE story, you don't HAVE to. It's not "unfair" at all.

Yes, she does look quite frustrated.

Why is that the only part of the series she looked appealing in?

Meh, I'm not amused.
Nataline Portman isn't that hot either, no matter how hard she tries.

That chick from TRON: Legacy, on the other hand...
