Wiki rules

We're going to start moderating the wiki. Let's have a discussion on what our policy on the wiki should be like. The wiki originated as an experiment to see if it can replace the main site. It failed, but it instead flourished as a way of documenting various "community" related entries and individual members. I kept it as a result but haven't really checked on it much and did not request any sort of moderation attempt. Feel free to discuss how the wiki should (or should not) be regulated and I will take it all into consideration.

It's still good when people put actual thought and effort into it. Snarf was making some headway with cleaning things up. It's got promise, just the lack of rules caught up to it. Not a big deal though.

Don't trash it. I love my wiki page. It isn't necessary to throw it out because of one or two people. ><

I think it may be a good idea to just moderate the wiki according to the rules of the forum. But then most of us have our 'feelings toward other Soupers' and 'how the soup feels about so and so' sections and those should technically be banned under the Personal Bullshit rule. The wiki is light-hearted and fun for most so why should 2 people ruin it for all?

I think we need to ban "conversations" over the wiki. It should read like an article, not a thread. Also, this rapid editing thing sucks. Use "see preview" and not just keep changing shit and saving it until you like it. No deleting things other people put on a page unless it's approved by the wiki administration, although that'd be really hard to enforce. None of this "opinion" shit. The wiki pages are articles, not a fucking approval repository. A person(s) should be in charge of keeping shit organized and correct, like basic grammar and spelling to proper wiki structure with links, headings and pictures being used right.

I like the Soup Wiki. It's like Facebook except we can all modify each other's profiles for good friendly fun, like this.
The situation that started all of this, on the other hand, isn't a good example...

Is it possible to block someone from editing your page? That could help allot.

Let some of forum rules apply to wikki. Replace Econs with some one actually competent and who doesn't play favorites. Because yet again he has, instead of giving them both a warning like he should have ..he only gave a warning to Julia because he's pissy at her ...that or he's a fucking nitwit.

Either way he shouldn't be a mod and history speaks for itself. Every time you had to comeback and baby-sit us it always had something to do with Econs.


Enough of him already.

I didn't even know there was a Snake Soup wiki. Also, I don't think I would be a very good mod since I don't actually read many of the posts on here. Like Ravi has repeatedly said in the past, if there's a post you don't like or disagree with, just fucking ignore it, which I'll admit I failed at with this whole wiki drama bullshit thing by even posting in that thread. I just wanted some context as to what Julia was going on about when I should've just not even cared.

Make a poll and let the members decide if wikki should stay, get trashed or whatever.
