Probably one of the best games on the Genesis, if not the very best. Usually, games like these aren't that great-- I mean, it's a game about 7 Up's old mascot, Cool Spot. It really doesn't sound like it would be good but believe me, it's a beautiful game in every aspect. I remember playing this for more than a year until I finally finished it.

Wonderful gameplay, graphics and sound.

You should try it out. Don't get the PSone version, though.

This game, in addition to being fun as hell, was memorable to me since I had the same name as the protagonist.

This game brings me A LOT of memories. I think I never beat it lol.

This game may have sucked ass, but for me as a kid it was THE BEST RACING GAME EVAR.

But there were 3 games that were THE games of my childhood.

The first game I played that was kind of a cinematic experience.

Gave me lots of replay value.

I love this game. Critics can say whatever the fuck they want, but this game kicks ass. And the soundtrack was excellent. I used to whistle the song playing in the level while I played Smile .

Holy shit. I agree with you 100%. We have the exact same tastes, and what's weird is, that Mickey game was my first PSX game too.

I have to say, I was really fortunate to be a child of the Playstation1 Generation Looking back on the last 2 years of video games, nothing's innovated, nothing is Niche, Nobody even tries to be original. It's fad after fad. it's not, say, opening 2 years of PS1. that had fucking everything. I feel ahead of my years saying this, but back in my day, video games wasn't a business, it was about making your own genre so that people would buy your game, not making the best game OF a genre popular right now.
Commercialism destroys another business. First Music, then Films, now Games.
I still have Anime... I can cry myself to sleep now.

...you missed the two great generations before it. That said, I'm greatful for my father picking up an NES... for my sister, but I ended up being the guy to actually beat Super Mario Bros.

But you're wrong. Video games was always about being a business. Much like music and film as well. The problem isn't "they want money," it's "they're afraid of losing money." Here's Frank Zappa talking about the music industry. Replace everything he says with "video games" and it applies. You can confirm this by looking at who's the head of all of the major video game companies and how "hip" they tend to be. These kinds of people are scared of risks so they just repeat marketing trends. It sucks.

Every entertainment medium is a business, and always has been. The reason older generations of games/movies/music looked better than the current generation is a.) gaming/music/movies was still new back then, so of course there will be a shit load of new genres introduced, and b.) people of that generation were kids back then, and have a bigger sense of nostalgia for those times.

There will always be new creative ideas coming out every year if you look hard enough.
Like... Heavy Rain, Left 4 Dead, Uncharted, Brutal Legend, Mass Effect, Alan Wake, Portal, Mirror's Edge, Braid, Flower, and a ton of other great new IPs released in the past three years alone. And coming soon, Six Days in Fallujah and The Last Guardian (two games I can name at the top of my head.)

It's not like the indie games community is 100% filled with earth shattering orgasm inducing top-notch quality either. Just like with mainstream gaming, you have to sort out the shit from the gold.

When I grow older, I'll probably be bitching about how my generation of gaming was better than the new generation of gaming. And later, that generation will grow older, and then they'll start bitching about how their generation of gaming was so much better than the new generation of gaming.

Edit: What Ravi said is true as well.

You're honestly going to defend everything you said with that? No, I'm not badmouthing anime-- it's just somewhat funny that anime hasn't, supposedly, been changed in "modern" times, according to you. Everything Frank Zappa said in that video Ravi posted can be applied to the anime industry as well. You have a few studios doing good innovative work while the rest is manufactured generic cheese.
