I'm certain they would get along just fine actually.
Jaeger looks like the black labrador that lives next door, he's called Matias and he's been friends with Pandora since she came home as a pup. It's really impressive how they get along and how he protects her and gives her presents ( he goes and finds empty water bottles and gives it to her), it's endearing as it looks like he's romantically interested in her. Never ceases to amaze me
I guess dogs aren't much different than humans.
I like to take pandora on car rides, not with any goal in sight sometimes, but she loves to travel and feel the wind on her face. Her favorite toy used to be a rubber chicken but now it's her pink blanket, no one can touch that thing Haha
I've never had a dog before her, only birds and a bunny, but I'm loving the experience and interactivity a dog provides and most of all, the unconditional love you mentioned.
The only downside is that she likes to go up my bed and lick my face to wake me up..the problem is that she does it at 7 o'clock in the morning, even on weekends

Oh good, and I don't like to be up so early myself. My dog wakes me up with his wet nose, ..... and if that won't wake me he will shake like he just got out of the bath tub, and if that won't do it, he will jump on my bed, settle in and fall asleep for at least another half hour. He starts a bit earlier than Pandora though.., by and hour.

Well we really can't blame them, they just want us to cease the day and have some playtime. Pandora is specially fond of hide and seek around the house( I hide and she tries to find me)
I don't know if Jaeger does it too, but Pandora has some privacy issues.
Everytime nature calls and I go to the bathroom she just tries to force the door open with her paws.I don't know what's up with her sometimes.
And she actually succeeded and scared me s*itless.

I never tried to play hide and go seek with Jaeger, but his favorite game is keep away. After I take him for a walk, and sit down he will find something to get that will make me get up to get it off of him. His favorite thing is the remote for the T.V. I try to ignore him, but he will stand infront of me till I say..."what do you have? or Can I see that?" and then he takes off. I have to usually get what he has because his teeth have pushed the buttons of the remote so far in that he can break that, which he as a few already, or he will get my shoes... How I get them off of him is I get him a treat, throw it in the other room and I crawl under the table to get what he took.
But because I know its his little thing to engage and keep me interested, its okay. Then he goes to get a ball or some annoying squeaky toy and bring it to me, but wont give it to me.
I love him though. Isn't it so nice when you come in the door and they greet you like they haven't seen you in years?
Jaeger plays with empty water bottles too. Have you ever seen this toy? I bought one for him about a year ago, he loves it.

That's a classic, they always do that "come and try to take this from me"
Taking care of a dog may have it's downsides but it's so worth it. They love you no matter what, I seem to have lost count of how many times Pandora cheered me up when I've had a rough day.
And she protects the house to, everytime someone makes a noise right outside my door she barks to warn me. She's both a delicate and tough lady, as it should Haha
I wasn't aware of those toys, she used to have a rubber chicken that made some squeky noises until she ripped it apart. I wasn't concerned, hearing that noise 24/7 drove me crazy.

You are so lucky Julia, you can't even fathom how hard it is to get her in the tub. She doesn't like water at all. If she hears the sound of running water she hides under the bed as long as it takes
I can see you're really a fan of labradors. I've seen many of them being used to help blind people. and they always have a sad look on their faces.
Do you live in a big house? Those boys can get pretty big.

It helps to put them in a bath when you first bring them home, that first week. Then you give them baths like that very often, even once a week is okay with mild shampoo. My Aunt is a dog groomer and she thinks this helps too. He doesn't like his nails clipped, mom ties him to our fence to keep him in one spot. Hes still not bad though, and just gets through it. It helps to reward with treats too, of course.
My home is not so big. We have a fenced in yard, but we take him for long walks thru the day, and he as this other yard which is very big to go run in. Its owned by a hospital, but mom knows the grounds keepers and they don't mind. Its also fenced in, which is nice and safe. Jaeger is just about 80 lbs. small for a male. But he is from a nice line of Champs and has a nice set of papers and a great bloodline. He is a lot more active than our Jake was. I think though Jakes size did slow him down. He was attacked by a pittbull..long story, but my mom almost lost her thumbs fighting the dog off, but later that attack created slipped disks and back problems that couldnt be repaired, and he became paralysed and couldnt move or eat or relieve himself. Surgery wasn't an option due to his size and recovery was ify, as was to put him under to do the surgery. They thought to put him down was best. He was just 7.
Here he is just a yr. old. He was really very special.

That was the look I was talking about....
He was a beauty indeed...He may have had a short life but at least he had a family who adored him. Unfortunately not many dogs we see on the streets have the same luck.
It's best not to think about it.
I live in a apartment, and for a while I feared she would be quite tall and big like some dalmatians are, luckly she only inherited black dots I have a park just around the corner with plenty of grass where she can play. Actually having a dog is great for meeting new people.

Actually I tried to but never got to the end of it. she kept moving too much. I'll finish it in a rainy day over a cup of hot chocolate.
And your father is absolutely right. A chiuaua is already going too far. It's like a dog-purse.They should have their own category.

I would reccomend a French Bulldog. I don't know why but they are the funniest looking dogs around. I can't help laughing by just looking at them.
If you don't break a smile you're not human[/img]
