Probably because the military doesn't really want women as soldiers.
Because it would be very demoralizing for fellow men soldiers seeing a fellow women soldier die. Along few other reasons.

Wish there was more content like the original post. Seeing the negative dive society has taken and how it's mysteriously made people more unhappy, and less well balanced is really interesting. Even more so the spin media puts on it as shocking when it's something to be expected.

It's ridiculous isn't it? The propaganda just never quits. We're conditioned to believe that men and women are the same, gay and straight is the same, all races are the same, and that everybody is just an individual who isn't defined by their gender, race, culture, creed, or childhood conditions -- and therefore it's OUR fault if we don't become successful, not a reflection on a crooked system. Study after study is proving that Generation X and Y have it harder than any generation in American history, and that standards of living are constantly going down while prices keep going up.
They get to decide how many hoops we have to jump through, what things cost, how much we get paid, who gets hired and who gets fired, and we're just supposed to chase after those lofty "dreams" as if it's not a rigged system. They must be laughing at us every day.
The biggest sectors of employment for women, last time I checked, were education, medical, and government. All three of these are federally funded, meaning that they rely on the tax money that men earn doing productive jobs -- or whatever productive jobs haven't been shipped oversees. They suck money out of the system and put the nation in debt. The schooling industry is good for nothing but training children as if they were animals; the medical industry is flooded with good-for-nothing baby boomers, addicts, and other unproductive people; and the government is only interested in protecting itself. If we keep going this direction, there will be no real jobs, and everybody will be sucking money out of the system. Welfare state at its finest, and women can proudly lead the way.
