Apparently the release is May 22nd here in the U.S.. I don't know how reliable the source I got it from is, but if this is the case when SEGA says "Spring" they really mean "As close to Summer as possible without going over....".

EPISODE METAL trailer has been released officially. Things learned from this trailer:
-If you own SONIC 4 EPISODE I and EPISODE II on the same device or platform, you will unlock Metal Sonic for use in four exclusive levels, and learn the backstory connecting SONIC CD to SONIC 4: EPISODE II. (It also looks like you will be able to play as Metal Sonic in SONIC 4)

-The game's release dates are officially revealed:
May 15th - Playstation 3
May 16th - Xbox Live Arcade
May - iOS Devices/PC
June - Android Marketplace
July - Xbox Live Arcade on Windows Phone 7

-The rest of the trailer is a very long sandy/dusty level that showcases the Spin-Yiff Attack and some of "Tails"'s flight abilities.

UPDATE: On April 21st the beta for the game apparently leaked on STEAM. Of course people rushed to snap photos...

They reused the STARDUST SPEEDWAY ACT III sign from Sonic CD (the level is actually the STARDUST SPEEDWAY stage from Sonic Generations). They also use "Super Sonic Racing" as the theme for his return to Earth.
