Fucking Canada. Or rather, Canada.com, the official website for open but shitty cannabis and socialism. They interviewed Jeff Bell, Xbox's Corporate Vice President of Global Marketing and Almost-Cockmongling.



This is all fine and honestly, despite their gun control laws (EDIT: and ironic sponsors), this was done with good intentions. However, they just revived an argument that died an hour ago:

Lets be honest. There's only two major franchises that are talked about not appearing on our platform: Final Fantasy and Metal Gear Solid.*

Somebody like me would agree, since it seems like almost every game is on both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360--but fanboys reading that have their estrogen at high levels, despite the fact that it's not a big fucking deal.

(*Editor's note: Bell obviously means 3rd party franchises. Not first party franchises such as Mario, Metroid, Zelda etc.)

Also, solve this riddle:

Anything that comes out of MGS like Halo 3, PGR 4 or Gears of War, we're clearly going to own that and brand that with the Xbox 360 logo.

Ignoring the MGS comments I like how he [Jeff] touts Viva Pinata as a Mario party/kart killer. I also like this bit because its so downright asinine and cheesy "In the case of EA, we just have an incredible partnership with them. Madden is not exclusive for us but they know where their bread is buttered. We will outsell the PS2 and PS3 version of Madden this Holiday Season combined." Yeah 800,000 Xbox 360 CDs shipped and 300,000 CDs shipped for both PS2 & 3. Buttered "bread" huh? Another one here " We want people to develop once and publish twice. If you develop with our code we want you to get two bangs with one buck." K? So if I buy one and its shitty the other one will bet the same?

Reading the MGS comment and the pot shot at Kojima and Co. I think this guy is an ass. Actually, the whole Microsoft PR team is just one big ass clown collective of car salesmen. They act like their shit is going to sell and they just laugh about it. ... nevermind that.

Ok, the quote provided is:

Somebody coming to a Metal Gear fansite might assume he means MGS as in "Metal Gear Solid." From that, it seems like Bell is saying that games like Halo and Gears of War were inspired and influenced by MGS... and other games that do the same will be branded with the Xbox 360 logo.

Even then, if one knew he meant MGS as in "Microsoft Gaming Studios," the sentence as-is is fucking retarded. Of course a game made by Microsoft will be on Xbox 360. Who thought otherwise?
