Silent Hill 4 is my favourite of all of them (beside 3). I love the story, I love the environment, I love everything about it.

Some people complain that it's repetitive (it can be) and that the inventory system is bad (I don't have a real issue with it). Others complain that there are annoying unkillable enemies. The ghosts.

Try it, you might like it.

4 is for fans. It's not as good as its predecessors but it is at least creative. The design is different. It's very much its own animal compared to the past games. The room stuff was really cool.

Might be more fun to go through with a friend. The game is a big puzzle and I think that is what is most appealing about it. And it does have some creepy moments to it.

SH 4 is one of my favorites. I love the concept of a guy trapped in his own apartment. The controls were kinda clumsy but overall is a unique silent hill entry.

Btw how's downpour?

So apparently they didn't have the final source code for the HD ports.

Seems that Bassett is heading to Comicon this year, which takes place July 12-15th.

So I take that to mean the Silent Hill Revelation movie is going to debut there!

Looks like the PS3 version will get some of the problems fixed:

I don't have this HD collection myself (got the PC versions), so I don't know if it solved ALL of the problems, like, does silent hill 3 still have that darkened reddish hue all over it? What about self shadowing and DOF effects?

Comicon stuff is tomorrow. There'll be a Q&A panel, and they're showing off 2 scenes in 3-D. No trailer however, it'll be out a couple weeks later.

Here's one of the scenes shown at Comicon

According to Bassett, the trailer is not created in a way to necessarily represent the film the way he'd want it to. It just looks like an amusement park ride. Either way, I'm there day 1, or whenever a bunch of my other Sh fan friends can get together to go see it, which would ideally be as soon as possible.

Which is quite convinient since SH3 starts and ends in an amusement park!

Only one big complaint about the trailer and that is that it's too loud. It's also the one thing they could've done and made me not want to see the movie. I can take a lot of shit from adaptations and I'm not in the crowd that gives much of a fuck about narrative faithfulness to the source material, but fuck, at least maintain the atmosphere.

It's why I loved the very non-scary Shattered Memories. Atmosphere.

That's the japanese farting in the general direction of the American company.

I didn't hate Silent The Room. It get's a lot of crap for being one of the worst games but a better developer could make some of those design choices work.
