Sorry that I didn't reply sooner. I'm been really busy these days.
Since Rei liked the other acrylic painting that I posted, here is another one. This one was a bit more complex, but it goes on the same line:
As for the comic itself, since there is some interest on it now, I'm finishing it little by little. I'll tell you when it's done. Just bare in mind that I have a huge workload right now, so it's not like I'll finish it tomorrow.
Yes, some poses are not mine, but the idea is different.
When I was in Japan, I saw a lot of desktop published fan comics and novels, specially about Zelda. There is stuff revolving around MGS, too. Think Project Itoh, for instance.
I won't be following the actual storyline and stuff. It is a fan edited comic.
We already have the official graphic novel, so there's no point in doing the same thing.
Even so, most of the art is new, and, answering that one particular question, Meryl's not nude, but the comic itself is plain Meryl fanservice, so most of the vignettes revolve around her doing pullups and streching exercises without her trousers on.
Why so much flesh?
Well, you see, I used to draw the comic strip for a local magazine. It was about this character named Mantecaero (Cupcake man) and his friend Tomizo (Rope-o). Mantecaero makes a living delivering his own cupcakes with his Citröen 2cv. The strips kind of made jokes with the current situation. For instance, this one was done during an election:
But, you know, people were more than "meh" about it. They were downright "boo...!".
That is, until I started doing this:
This kind of thing got so much praise, that by the time I was drawing strips like the following, it had garnered a considerable following, even among girls, who liked it because it was completely outlandish:
Also, yes, I use a graphic tablet, but I also hand-draw a lot of stuff using ink. The citizen kane strip, for instance, is hand drawn. It was more a materials cost and available working space decision rather than time constraints, as there's not much difference (if any) in result and the time taken. If you have a proper scanner, hand drawing your stuff is cool.

I really like your drawings and comics, but, don't get me wrong, everytime I see this drawing:

Actually no, I'm very good with facial characteristics. I never forget a face,

Thanks everybody. I'll keep on posting stuff little by little, if you want to.

Actually, that was the idea all along, and it gave me more than one headache until I got the process right. You see, I wanted to replicate the flat colors look and feel from comics (pre computer colored ones, that is), specially european ones, since they have more variety of colors. The thing is, it's tricky.
If you pencil draw and ink the image (like a traditional comic), then you have to paint over it, and the paint will either be too thick and cover the lines, or way too diluted and give a watercolors feel.
You see, I was making a mistake trying to do things the way they are done with actual comics (that is: drawing, inking, then coloring).
Actually, what US comic color artists did was using a set of cyan, magenta and yellow weft cells, then they created a cutout with a pattern for each CMYK pass. That's why superheros had such loud colors, because they were constrained to the combination of those weft printings (100% cyan plus 25% magenta... etc). The original inked drawing was the K pass.
What european comics like Tintin used was a different process invented by Richard Corben. He inked the drawing, then did a photocopy of it on special paper, then he would paint over that photocopy with acrylic painting (covering the lines in the process). Then, he would take three pictures of the result using special film. Each film would give him each single C M Y pass, and then it could be offset composited with the inked original (K pass).
That means there's no such thing as an original colored full Richard Corben page. The final result was only achieved after compositing.
Of course all of this has become obsolete with the use of computers.
So, what I do is: pencil draw it, then color it, then paint the lines over it. The bad (and cool) thing about acrylic and flat colors is that you have to work very fast, or else it might dry before you finished coloring a particular area and you might not be able to match colors again.
But enough talk! Render time!
This is a cartoon pet I designed for my former employer's solar panels facilities:
Local schools would take kids there and they would see the panels working, then we would tell them about renewable energies using a series of images with my cartoon character. For instance, here you have him having fun with the sea to acompany an explanation about tydal power. I really liked the way this one render turned out:

I wouldn't know what to answer. I'm a self taught, somehow.
I'm preparing a 3dStudio modelling tutorial for my students. If you all want to, I can upload it here as a separate thread once it's done. Actually, that tutorial and some job related stuff have been keeping me away from the keyboard and The Soup.
Then again, render time (once more)!:

You mean, like, you ask me to do some stuff, then I post it here?
If so, sure, I can, but take into account that it would take some time (I work and study at the same time. Have very limited free time, lately. Sorry)
Needless to say, 2D stuff would be done fster than 3D stuff.
