This rendering of Big Boss conspicuously appears to be wearing a ponytail with short sleeves, both of which it has in common with the character from a screen shot that was recently posted and dissected on this site. It would seem, based on that, that the screen shot and this advertisement represent the same project, but one as uninformed as I wonders why they would need to be hiring for a project that is already as far along as this one appeared to be. Perhaps my assumptions are faulty, but regardless, I am enthused.

A project can often be in development for many years before it begins to be pieced together. For instance the game "FINAL FANTASY XIII: VERSUS" has had no less than four trailers released for it, as well as tech demos. But it hadn't officially begun production until last Fall.

If the game takes place in the 1980s, which we are assuming. We have knowledge of two exact moments that Big Boss was engaged in combat. On top of this the dog might point to the "Dogs of War" that Sniper Wolf mentioned during the Kurdish-Iraq war. On top of this, the weapons Kojima and team were training with last year, are all from this time period.

WARS IN QUESTION/EVENTS KNOWN TO CANON:
Rhodesian Civil War (1964 - 1979)
The war in which Frank Jaeger, now fighting alongside Big Boss, killed a young Rhodesian girls parents. He would claim her as his sister and raise her. Of course this is Naomi Hunter

Kurdish-Iraq War (1980 - 2008)
The war in which Sniper Wolf was both born during, and saved from by Big Boss. She would not join FOX-HOUND or Big Boss until the U.S. Sanctioned bombings on Iraq in 1996. In 1988 she would've witnessed the gassing of her family and friends during the Al-Arifal Campaign.

Iraq-Kurdistan would not be recognized until 1992 as it's own country.

I think it's safe to say that it won't be a remake of MG1 or 2. Big Boss still isn't aware of any cloning by the end of Peace Walker, and his hair isn't right. Plus, "Diamond Dogs" on his shoulder? What the fuck is that? MSF wasn't good enough? We get another stand-in name for Outer Heaven, even though BB pretty much decides on the name at the end of PW?
