I liked that earlier version of Snake too, it was pretty good in my opinion. A lean face looks best on Snake.
Meryl's face looks like it was modeled after her MGS4

Must be the color. Most of her outfit was that color in MGS4. That middle-east-y looking camouflage that sort of looks like what US troops in Iraq are wearing.

They gave her that cocky vibe she has in MGS1 artwork too which is a nice touch. These, as you said, do loo like the HD versions of these characters. Maybe there readying up the remake already lol
I for one would like to see a Sneaking suit Meryl too

I would PAY for a Sneaking suit Meryl
but i think those designs are more related for a MGO3 than anything, maybe they used the iraq cama, bacause green is to oldschoolvietnamish/sterotypingsoldierish and COD fans might feel alienated
if they remake MGS1, they can fuck themselves... at least make a 3d version of msx, games, that play like, you know mgs1, with classic cinematic camera, i don't care about hd, but if looks as good as mpw's real time cutscenes i'll be ok with that... it might work.

I doubt theyd ever make a remake of the MSX classics and ui doubly doubt they'd make it with classic camera. Kojima himself talked about his dislike of the old camera when speaking about almost adding a 3d camera to MGS2. That addition would never have made sense imo

Hm, but that's also the remake version that has to take into account the Portable Ops shit and whatnot. I'm certain that in the original version, either in-game or in the book, it say's that he was tortured and has his ears and nose actually cut off, though they'd been reattached if I remember correctly, leaving scars.
Whatever, small beans. He looks so shitty in the updated version...
