Ravi, that's not what I have a problem with. I have problem with the Vita not having enough buttons and relying on the touch gimmick. It instantly makes me less interested in playing either of these games on that system.

Two shoulder buttons on a portable? It would be annoying. Also, Zerim correctly identifies analog face buttons as a gimmick so it should be a good thing the Vita doesn't have them, right?

Indirectly, yes. At least they won't be relying on them to make games.

As for the shoulder buttons... well, yeah it could be annoying; which should be enough of a hint that the portable market is different and should be kept separate from the console market.

...so we're back to this being all about Sons of Liberty and Snake Eater on a portable device. Which I still think is awesome.

I can't disagree. It *is* kinda cool to see them on a portable device. I just still think it shouldn't happen.

I would like to see VR Missions on the Vita, though.

They could copy/paste MGS1's controls, but condense the Shoulder buttons into one like in MGS2 and 3. Tap to un/equip, hold to select from a menu. Overhead camera, shoved around by the right analogue stick like in Snake Eater. Or fine, whatever, 3D camera. The overhead camera works with the radar.
Could probably do it just as a tech demo of what the fox engine can do, because so far there's fuck all, and from anything I can tell, it's already been ready to use for a good year now. (they were making Rising on it for god's sake.)
Infact, Kojima didn't have anything to do with VR missions in Substance, they were all made by the development team. It's a perfect opportunity for him to pass the series by force.

Exactly. The MGS:VR MISSIONS was good, BUT SUBSTANCE was perfect, it has the most varied missions in there, Genollas, Photography, Hold Up, Dark, Zako, there wasn't a REAL Ninja mode, but whatever, Streaking, etc.

Yeah, it's my favourite mode on original VR Missions. With todays technology, that mode would be perfect.

I've never played LA NOIRE, but I'm willing to blindly say MGS1's mystery mode was better than it.

I have it. It's a good game from what I've played so far.

But it's probably not as creative as Mystery Mode. (Especially the one with the Popsicle)

That one stumped me for so long. I checked the mouths for blue stains. I was looking in FPV while Snake was phased into his body (the guards have no collision detection) to see if there was a popsicle in his mouth. Finally I gave up and had to get hints from Jiko (I was streaming it in Soup Chat.)

But for some reason my brain processed it wrong and I carried the guy whose breath you could see (I know, I know, I'm such a John) and dragged him to the goal. I don't even think I was conscience about what I was doing when I did it. Because otherwise, WHAT THE FUCK MADE ME THINK COLD AIR + COLD BREATH = YOU CAN SEE THAT PERSON'S BREATH?!
