Wow this all sounds..really disappointing...
I'm guessing the games gonna crash when you spam Vamp with stinger missiles...

Is Peace Walker okay then? I've not heard anything bad about that, and are there any bugs in the JP version?

I spammed him with stingers and it was fine Smile

Peace Walker plays like a dream.. I'm guessing that's to do with Konami in-house remastering.
Although i did not play the original on the PSP, so i can't tell you if there's anything new.

I remember spamming Vamp with stingers the only real time the game went doolally on the PS2...erm guess they fixed that =p

I take back what I said about the sea lice, after Fortune got out of the elevator they were not at her feet, but there was a small group of them further away in the room during the cutscene.

Oh, and I noticed the squares in the water in Strut A as well, I guess it's the same in the Shell 2 Core too. Still, the graphics issues are more tolerable to me than the rerecorded dialog.

I've also read about the missing conveyor belt boxes in the french version, that must really fucking suck.

What parts have "awful" recording? Because i've played though and i'm not remembering anything that's glaringly obvious. could someone point them out?
I'm on the PS3 btw..
(why was it re recorded?)

Because of the button layout, which stupid, since they had the "Action button" and whatnot.

It's when Raiden enters the water in the Shell 2 Core. They rerecorded it for the Xbox port back in 2002 becaus the Colonel originally referred to the Left Stick as "Left Analogue Stick".

The rerecording sound nothing like the Colonel. In fact, it sounds like some guy reading a sentece in all caps, while trying desperately to give a semi-decent impersonation.

Ugh..
It's better than i thought TBH, but now you guys pointed it out, it sounds a bit weird. It sounds like a different person attempting to do the voice of the campbell..
it reminds me of that simpsons episode with the krusty kamp.. and "mr black" lol.

Yeah, it really doesn't make sense they changed it on the PS3 too, but it could be explained away as a glitch in the Colonel's AI...
