Saw it, liked it, but I wouldn't say this was the best film of 2011. Some things were off about it. While I love Trent Reznor's work, including his previous collaborations with Atticus Ross, asides from the title song with itself is a cover, nothing really stood out for me. In face, the best parts, soundwise, was when Mikael was snooping around and there was no music. But really, the pacing and the irrelevance of some of the film (which could be blamed on the source material perhaps) was, well like I said, "off." | Free Zone wrote: | | Rooney Mara |

Loved the Swedish one for how it touched on very dark issues that you rarely see in cinema.
The American remake was surprisingly accurate for an American apation. They didn't replace any cigarettes with lollipops.
I actually saw people walk out of the cinema during the rape scene and when the scene came where she got revenge on the rapist. The whole cinema exploded with laughing. Everyone was cheering at how she humilated him.
This is why I enjoy seeing films in the cinema, you get to hear people's reactions to certain scenes.

Hellllllllll yeah. I was ready to go all kinds of heterosex for her. I had not seen the Swedish version or read much of the book, so I didn't know much about her character, but I really liked how the movie made goths out to be super cool (because for the most part, I do think goths are pretty cool) unlike the way they are portrayed in most movies.

Yes her family owns a football team, namely my team the Giants. She looks better as Lizbeth but that isn't saying much. Her face still looks too bony, I prefer the original Swedish actress when it comes to looks, but when it comes to acting Mara blows her out of the water.

The only times I've thought Noomi Rapace looked really good are in the Prometheus trailer and screens. |
