If Homebrew development is a easy as it is on the PSP, 3DS Emulation should make the PSV the superior handheld.

That's not how emulation works, guys. Simply having more powerful hardware isn't enough, unless the function is already built into the software or extra hardware is there specifically for that (in which case it's not emulation anymore and is simply backwards compatibility), such as Master System on Genesis, GameCube on Wii, or both the software and hardware support of PS2 games on PS3.
Emulating a console on a system that wasn't built for it requires much, much more power than what's being emulated. There's no doubt that the Vita is more powerful than the 3DS, but I doubt that it's enough for decent -- let alone perfect -- emulation, nevermind the lack of two screens.

Now, Now, Kurosan, I know how emulation works, were just thinking out loud here.
Remeber, this is all theoretical stuff we're talking about.
No one said how well it'll run, if it could, anyway.

Why bother when MGS2/3 are already coming to it with minimal errr... 'minimizing'/changes ?
Though it's likely KojiPro could be changing some things to take advantage of touch/additional functionalities...
Would be cool if we could physically tap walls to make a noise... tilt to peek around a corner and other such stuff...

I only say this because from my understanding (not much) the 3DS is almost as powerful as a PS2, and the VITA is almost as (somewhere I heard it's more) powerful than a PS3.
That coupled with the lack of 3D in the PSV, and the second camera angle being a large drain on Video Memory in the DS(from my experience with trying to do various other things in 3D)...
...I'd probably say, with this semi-educated guess, that we might be able to see MGS3DS on PSV. |
Couple corrections here: The 3DS is above the PS2, hovering somewhere around the Wii in terms of power but with more advanced capabilities (though less memory, if I'm not mistaken). The Vita is much more powerful than that, but not on par with -- let alone above -- the PS3; after all, it did run a light demo version of MGS4 but only at a significantly lower frame rate.

Well, I heard it through word-of-mouth. It's interesting though.

Ah - MGS4 seems to run at 30FPS during cutscenes, and the demo ran at 20, with no fire effects in the background. I'd actually put a large amount of that down to the game not being made to run on VITA hardware. I'm still not saying that the VITA is as powerful as a PS3, but still...
Actually...

Check this out. That motherfucker looks atleast 2.5x as powerful as the 3DS.

I think the 3D was kinda like an anti-pirating system, since internet connection is the only importanf thing missing on DS emulators is and you could play most games without that.
