If it's after Rising, wouldn't that mean Snake is most likely dead? Maybe Raiden became a murderer after Snake died because he couldn't cope or some shit. I don't know.

If they were suppressing Raiden's childhood memories with nanomachines and hypnotherapy, imagine what happens after the AI network's information control center is gone and Jack's memories all start flooding back in.
That would most likely explain his "jack the ripper is back" thing. He's lost his mind and is behaving pre-MGS2. He's acting more like the monster Solidus created.
The part i'm finding hard to accept is that we are seeing the post-Patriots world, which looks pretty much identical to the Patriots' world. I don't see how they're financing all these Metal Gears, since the war economy was eliminated. Also, for Metal Gear AI to function, you need to use a hive-mind network, which was also tied to the Patriot's AI network. The MGs shouldn't even be functioning unless they are piloted.
Raiden's body was an experimental cyborg created by printing stem cells onto scaffolds that were shaped as muscles(replacing the protein scaffolds that your body uses to create its shape-this is a real technology) and they were threaded and grown onto a cyborg endoskeleton. It seems that the technology has taken off since MGS4 and Madnar may be behind it. In this specific setting, it seems that everyone has started to embrace this new cyborg approach, since the SOP system is gone, along with the combat benefits it provided. Becoming a cyborg soldier is the new 'in' thing.
One thing I've noticed over the years is that Hideo has branded people with modifications as property of specific companies. This is why they have the bar-codes. Psycho Mantis was the first to have the bar-codes in the series, although they never said why or what he had performed on himself. They showed up next on Ocelot's Liquid arm. Later on, they would appear on other characters like Raiden himself. Anytime they performed human enhancements, they'd stick their barcode on it. I assume it was AT security doing these things initially. The security firm guys in this new trailer have bar-codes on their heads, signifying their enhancements from whatever company has been doing this over the years.
As for the gameplay...I'll take it. The last thing I want to do with a Cyborg Raiden is sneak around and knock on walls. This isn't Snake's game. I wanna do all that shit that I saw him do in part 4.

Can this be said about a trailer in a show that also had a trailer about a new Hitman game? Okay, it's not exactly "Thief", but still. | Ok, I should have been more specific ; the subgenre of military lone infiltrator stealth.

Sorry, but I have to call bullshit on this. The stealth genre is dead, because Raiden doesn't do sneaking in his own spin-off? Isn't this the same series that gave us a stealth title a little over a year ago and will likely do so again?
I sympathize with people's shock over this, if I don't share their feelings, but I'm genuinely surprised anybody thought this would have anything to do with the series as we knew it. Even when they mentioned stealth during "Rising's" original production I thought they were trying too much to cater to us.
MGS6 this is not.

You can still play the game either guns blazing or in stealth. It's been said a million times before.

Well, I would kind of say he's right. The stealth genre is still there, but it's not what it used to be. Nowadays, everything's so fast paced in the modern stealth games, because they don't want people to get bored while playing it. Splinter Cell Convictio is an obvious example of how the modern stealth game is today.
Now for Rising. It needs some time to sink in, but if the story's handeled by Kojima Productions, then things can't be too bad, can it? Least it looks entertaining.

Set after MGS4? Fuck off, don't put the word reboot in the trailer and then do this to us.

The only game I would call real "stealth action" this gen is Human Revolution, everything else is just *BOOM* or shite (ass creed).
And at anybody who still cares about the Metal Gear canon.
