While the administration of The Snake Soup forums will be respecting everybody's free speech on these forums, there must be rules to make sure that this right is not being abused. There must be some control over abuse.

A violation of the following rules will result in the issuing of WARNINGs. These WARNINGs will be posted on your profile. With three warnings, a ban will be issued. Bans are posted in the CRIME AND PUNISHMENT topic in THE 'SOUP forum.

Punishment is as follows:
First ban = One Day Ban OR $5 via PayPal
Second ban = One Week Ban OR $10 via PayPal
Third ban = One Month Ban OR One Week Ban + $15 via PayPal
Fourth ban = One Year Ban OR One Month Ban + $30 via PayPal
Final ban = Banned forever, bitch

The following rules may be edited. Whenever they are, I will reply to this topic mentioning that they have been updated. Always keep updated with the rules if you don't want to be banned for being a whiny bitch.

I will be the only one updating the rules.

#1 - STUPIDITY

I. No 1337, no stupid jokes about cheese, monkeys, how bored you are, and such. No "bumps" either.

II. Inside jokes that are not related to Metal Gear or The Snake Soup must be made clear.

III. A conversation changes topic naturally. This is acceptable as long as the switch is not dramatic and random. Every post made within a topic must be clearly connected to a previous post within the topic.

IV. Do not create a new topic should you feel the need to introduce yourself or announce your departure. You may only do so in the Hello, Goodbye thread under Sit Down, Relax, and Hate.

V. You are only allowed to post once in a topic unless your post has a reply. If you want to add something to what you have already posted, you must edit your post and do so that way. Any accidental duplicate posts should simply be left alone and the moderators will remove them without issuing a warning.

VI. If you have had a warning issued, do not apologize for it. This is a waste of a post. If you are sorry, feel free to prove it by not violating the rule again. APOLOGIZING MERELY PROVES THAT YOU DID NOT READ THE RULES!

VII. Do not start a word game, such as "Take the title of a song, any song, and add the words "during sex" to it."

#2 - PERSONAL

I. Any comments made directly towards one individual such as comments on signature, avatar, or how much you want them dead should be made via private messaging NOT in public (including forum posts unless it is actually on-topic, signatures, avatars, custom titles, etc).

II. An exception to this rule is anything directed to Ravi Singh and The Snake Soup.

III. Any information about another member that is not made public here or given consent to be made public cannot be posted. IF SOMEONE HAS POSTED PRIVATE INFORMATION PM ANY MOD. PM ALL MODS AT ONCE FOR BEST RESULTS!

VI. Do not advertise. You may only do so should it be on topic with an already made thread or in your avatar, signature, and/or profile.

#4 - SEGREGATION OF FORUMS

I. Keep serious discussions in Sit Down, Relax, and Hate.

II. Keep any discussion, feedback, or comments about the website in The 'Soup forum.

III. Everything else goes into I, Dumbass.

IV. If there is a board dedicated to a certain game, keep all discussion of that game in their respective forum.
a. Any spoilers made visible outside of the designated forum within six months of a game's release will be a violation of this rule.

V. If a warning is issued to you and you feel that it was issued wrongly you may contest the warning in the same topic. Your warning may be revoked by a moderator or me. I have the final say, however, and the case cannot be appealed further than that. DO NOT PM a moderator or administrator or start a new topic regarding your warning. IF YOU HAVE BEEN BANNED AS A RESULT OF A WARNING YOU FEEL WAS WRONGLY ISSUED, SEND AN E-MAIL WITH YOUR EXPLANATION TO [email protected]

#5 - IDENTITY

I. Any violation of this rule results in two warnings except for §5.

II. Do not try to impersonate anyone on the forum by altering your username, avatar, or signature.

III. Any user may change their username by clicking on PROFILE/OPTIONS in the menu above. However, you must then post in the NAME CHANGE thread under The 'Soup.

IV. If you share an IP address with somebody, please alert the administration at once. You may be sharing an IP address if you use ever the same computer or network as someone else in the forums.

V. The moderators read the posts. The moderators issue warnings. If you notice someone breaking the rules, ignore them. An exception to this is if they are violating RULE 2 § 3 using your information. DO NOT ASSUME THAT BECAUSE SOMEONE IS SEEMINGLY "GETTING AWAY WITH IT" YOU WILL TOO. IGNORE THEM!

VI. Do not create a new account. If you wish to change your username you may do so as noted in §3.

#6 - RESTRICTION OF PORNOGRAPHIC MATERIAL

I. Due to United States federal law and several international laws, we absolutely can't allow child pornography.

II. Due to United States federal law, links or images in a forum post, user avatar, or user signature that are pornographic and "lack serious literary, artistic, political, or scientific value for minors" must be linked-to with a clear warning.

#7 - RESERVATION OF POWER

I, Ravi Singh, reserve the right to do anything he pleases on the forums.

#8 - FURY FRIDAY

I. Every Friday from heron is dubbed Fury Friday.

II. On Fury Friday, moderators are allowed to issue a Fury Friday for posts subjectively thought of as stupid.

III. Each Fury Friday warning will be shown in the Crimes & Punishment page as an asterisk (*). One asterisk bans the user for one Friday.
