While I think the writing was really bad I liked the main story, even without Add-ons.

And it REALLY isn't as open as Morrowind, you can do so much shit in Morrowind that you can't do in any other Bethesda game.

It's a FPS and RPG hybrid but FPS and RPG elements were broken, it had bad writing, the animations looked stupid and it wasn't nearly as open as Morrowind.

It also had a lot of bugs and glitches and it REALLY wasn't a good sequel to the Fallout series.

I say that's all why I liked it. I love glitches (so long as they don't burn your game Mad ), the dialogue and all the funny shit in there. It's charming. I can just rock out to that shit. I still liked the story too though, although it isn't as good as Fallout 2's in my opinion. Almost as good as 1's though. BUT factoring all the DLC and side-quests, it blows anything Fallout 1, 2, Tactics, BoS, whateves... had. And factoring that in, it's much more open than Morrowind, with Point Lookout alone.

This.

Besides, it's got aliens in it. Aliens I tell you!

I don't know what you mean by New Vegas being "overhyped" either, Keep it Classy. If you mean that attention is being drawn to it's new features, that's normal. If you mean it's getting lots of attention from the gaming community as a whole, I'm pretty sure Fallout 3 got much more than it's getting. Could you please explain your point?

On a somewhat related note, I will be disappointed if the fifth Elder Scrolls takes place in Skyrim. One of the main attractions of the Elder Scrolls games is the variety in the terrain, and that's going to be hard to achieve in the home of the Nords. I mean, it's basically just snow, ice, and then more snow and ice. Not very interesting for an entire games setting, no? I wouldn't mind going there in DLC (like in Morrowind's Blood Moon expantion) but I don't think it would be fun to play the whole game there.

What I mean is that people say that Fallout New Vegas will fix all the problems from Fallout 3 and that it will be the true Fallout 3 when it probably will have the same problems.

Except the shitty voice acting.

Fallout: New Vegas sounds interesting to me. Mainly the "hardcore" mode. I'm debating on checking that out or not. Some people don't really care for it though like my brother.

That's not exactly hyp. It's just gamers expressing their hopes. I do admit I'm interested in seeing what will happen, because it's being developed by another studio than Bethesda. If the glitches are still present, then we know it's a problem with the engin or something, but if they're gone, then we know that Todd Howard is an evil, evil man and he should be stopped before he makes any more bug riddled games.

I would also like to add that there are plenty of bugs present in Morrowind as well. And if you want to find shitty voice acting, look no further than Morrowind and there use of one terminal lung cancer patient for the entire cast of characters. Oblivion isn't much better, except for there legendary use of the greatest voice acter of all time, Wes Johnson! I think that as Bethesda grows, they'll start hiring more and more voice acters, and the overall quality of their performances will improve.

This is pretty much the definition of hype, they get their hopes up like crazy.

Visit some RPG forums, holy shit it's like New Vegas is the second coming.

Fallout 3 was good, but not amazing. Too much trudging through endless brown wastes and underground tunnels for it to be totally enjoyable.

Well I really can't make any say on this because I haven't played Morrowind enough to tell. But I assume you're wrong just based on the technological advances since Morrowind allowing for more possibilities, and that you're just fanboying. Which is fine, I do it too.

But... that's what Fallout is.

As for New Vegas fixing all the problems with Fallout 3: HAHAHAHAHAHA! Just... no. Who the fuck thinks that!?

Holy shit no, you can't kill everybody in Fallout 3, you can't skill alchemistry to make a intelligence pot and boost your intelligence to no end with repeating it and then boosting other stats (this is not cheating, it's game exploiting) to become a god.

You can actually kill gods in Morrowind.

You can kill people who you needed to finish the main quest and then make it impossible to finish the game.

You can fly around.

You can finish the game in five minutes.

Really, no fanboyism.

The game really is much more open than Fallout 3 and Oblivion.

It really is, I'm not trying to badmouth Fallout 3 or call Morrowind the superior game or anything.

While Morrowind is definitely the more open-ended, after playing Oblivion I can't stand to go back to Morrowind's combat. Walk about ten feet and a cliff racer or three spawn. Swing at it wildly and hope your invisible dice decide to let you actually hit it.

If you hold the left mouse button longer the chances to hit will be higher, and you should skill your weapon skills in order to hit more often.
