I do have to admit that I still remain weary of new Sonic games. Remember, SEGA has claimed that Sonic was "going back to his roots" since, what, Sonic Heroes?

Um, no. If it sucks, it sucks. I haven't purchased a Sonic title since Sonic Adventure 2 for Dreamcast. I was going to purchase Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection but the lack of lock-on for Sonic and Knuckles kept my credit card in my wallet.

I really liked the Advance series. Good bunch of games. In fact, I always bring my PSP with ROMs of all 3 Advance games to any thing involving waiting. Lines into the movies, lines at a theme park, lines at Anime Expo... All around.

You know, I also liked the Rivals series. Those are pretty fun. Nothing AMAZING, but still enjoyable.

At least that's how I feel.

Sonic games are old news. If the new Team could expand on the day stages of Unleashed and stop screwing it up with "wow cool!" bloat. I think you could slowly revive the franchise.

Unleashed might have become the rebirth of Sonic, had they not made the whole Queerwolf thing a part of it. I can't even fucking beat it. I'm still stuck on this Chinese level as Werehog. It got me in such a rage that I broke my controller. It's not so much that the I was pissed at the stage, but that they took raping Sonic to a whole new level.

Sonic Unleashed claimed two controllers, one died out of sheer exhaustion due to all the boosting in the day levels, the other died to pay for the sins of the Werehog on the night levels. It's definitely a game to finish though, though on 360 and PS3 the final level is nearly all Werehog which is a problem. The good news, Sonic and Super Sonic get to finish the whole game off to give us one last sad look at what "could have been".
