Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain.

I'm rather enjoying this playthrough again.

Pokemon Gold.

Eight years down the road, and I have a better grasp of how RPGs work. These gym leaders won't stand a fucking chance.

That's because Pokémon is fundamentally easy unless you have to level-grind like fuck. And I beat Red at the end of that game with pokémon twenty levels below his shit. Just takes longer. In the game, there's no question of what you can do or take on (which is anything it throws at you), there's more the question of how long it's going to take. Time-sucker, yet you're not getting any better. Still enjoyable, though, to some.

Something that kind of bugs me about these games... why are flying types weak to electric attacks? If they aren't grounded, shouldn't they be immune?

But a Charmander wouldnt be impervious to a lightning bolt either. So why does a Pidgey take more damage from a Pikachu then say, a Rattata?

Didn't say it made sense, but the games are a little bit more complex because of it. Some of their aspects remind me of Street Fighter II, but with a many more learning-impaired fighters that can only remember four moves. Worst of all, the battle system's shitty; you yell commands. The Hey You, Pikachu? gimmick could be applied to the whole franchise. Street Fighter II is more complex.

And the Pokémon games aren't RPGs.

After that always fatal blow to my psychological health that is MGS3 (I *really* didn't want to kill the Boss Sad ), starting now MGS4. I think I'll give the finger to both sides this time and I'll sneak my way through the battlefield.

I finished Gears 2 with my friend. It seems we had only two minutes left in the game and it was pretty simple. Then we did COD5 co-op which was annoying as hell because the AI in the game is in shambles as they decide to ignore enemy soldiers that blatantly shout "Banzai" as they charge with bayonet and a big grin.
