Most movies are a total waste of time, doing nothing whatsoever with the medium and its capabilities, and that's why Fury Road was such a breath of fresh air. It was a movie that actually entertained. It knew when to start, and when to end, instead of wasting time with nonsense to pad it out. How Fury Road used visuals and sound actually shows what movies are capable of. Unfortunately, most movies seem to exist just to exist and make whatever money they can, and I find them so overrated. Crap like Jupiter Ascending and those godawful Alice movies show that you can throw all the money you want into your visuals, but unless you actually have a story that's interesting, or do something actually interesting instead of the same thing over and over, then you're just going to make another forgettable waste of time.
Also, what he wrote kind of reminded me of that terrible movie Hugo. Good God was that movie a horrible abomination. Why the hell are there so many people obsessed with movies? Most of them totally suck. Directors and actors stroke their dicks talking about how they're doing something so noble, and everyone just shits all over the writers, who actually came up with the damn story in the first place.

Good movies, especially good action movies, take a shitload of time and planning and hard work.

In Mad Max' case I'd hate to be the guy who sat through all the 150+ hours worth of car footage to piece this thing together, but God bless 'im.

It's not the talent that is lacking. It's that the suits want shit done fast and therefore cheap. This is frustrating to a lot of directors, stuntmen, action choreographers, and even writers. Would you pour your hard work into a script that you know is going to be chopped up and served to the PG-13 Love Trumps Hate Bushwacka SJW audiences?

You keep your baby under wraps until someone comes along and gives a shit. Until then, here's another Taken movie. Just tell Liam Neeson to run around in a circle and we'll film his legs close up, and do the rest in post.
