Silicon Knights just got a $4 Million CAD government grant thanks to Canada's Community Adjustment Plan which uses $1 Billion CAD tax payer money to "address the short-term economic needs of Canadian communities impacted by the global recession." Rick Dykstra, the representative for St. Catharines was overjoyed by how the money will be used to "create 65 jobs." The $4 Million pales in comparasion to the $263 million grant that was given to Ubisoft to develop games in Toronto last year, but this is a Metal Gear site and of course we're going to cover Silicon Knights:

What? What are you talking about? What the fuck is a "Kojima Productions?" Silicon Knights was the developer of Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes and uh..... ummm... err...... uhhh... whatever, who the fuck do you think you are not crediting Silicon Knights for the development of the Metal Gear Solid series, Crystal Dynamics? Anyways, Silicon Knights President Denis Dyack (pictured above, clearly in need of some tax payer money) was pretty damn happy to receive the grant, claiming that it will be quite helpful in the development a game that will take two to five years to finish, which sounds about right for Metal Gear Solid: Rising.

Dyack has a history of reaching out for help from the government. He implied to take legal action against NeoGAF due to being butthurt over animated GIFs "attacking" him and was lobbying for a government-funded video game development school that would allow Silicon Knights to have a much easier time recruiting for talent. It's news like this that makes me realize how similar Canada is with the United States!

In other news, some Japanese guy named Kojima Hideo or some shit is talking about a new "taboo-breaking" video game he's thinking up in his head. His development team, as far as we know, has not received a bail-out so obviously their next game is not a big deal:

Dyack said there are only a handful of developers worldwide making AAA products, or top tier titles.

Kojima's living it up too much to care. Bailouts are petty change.

Kojima doesn't need no bailout.

Kojima doesn't need no Microsoft bribes...
