RE: Metal Gear Solid 5 Ground Zeroes Spring 2014 Release
So Ground Zeroes might come with the complete MGSV down the road?

No reason to buy now then... Maybe by then I'll have a PS4.

Also, are they saying there's no boxed release for PS4/Xbone?

Also, is that fucking Comic-Sans used in the logo or what?

RE: Metal Gear Solid 5 Ground Zeroes Spring 2014 Release
We know that SONY has delayed the launch of the PS4 in Japan until 2.22.14 due to the amount of Domestic Titles being ready for Launch lacking so I would wouldn't be surprised to see some form of code sold with the PS4 that day for a Digital purchase of MGS5 Ground Zeroes which would mean we wouldn't see a release until March.

$30 for a PS3/360 Retail disc.
$30 for a PS4/XB1 digital download.
$20 for a PS3/360 digital download.

That's some silly pricing right there. Sadly this is the best scheme you can get from Konami. Get it now and buy Phantom Pain for the full $60-70 price tag or wait for the inevitable 'Ultimate Edition' to get both for the price of one.

Is this the first case of DLC being announced before a sequel is released? Because it feels like DLC. You certainly don't pay to read the prologue of a novel before you buy the book.

Dead Rising 2: Case Zero. This is essentially the same thing. Opens the story, puts you in a smaller playing field, and introduces the new gameplay mechanics. The biggest difference here is the pricing.

Nope. That was $4.99

Ground Zeroes better be fucking fantastic if it's $20-$30

To buy or not to buy...

I'm tempted to get this but I don't wanna potentially regret blowing $20 or $30 either since it'll no doubt be rather short.

Definitely getting without question... but, not sure if I should try and save up for a ps4 for this, or just get an HD monitor and get it on pos3. Hurm.

RE: Metal Gear Solid 5 Ground Zeroes Spring 2014 Release
well since the full game might be released until 2016... I think the thing includes like 18 side ops and we still don't know how long ground zeroes might be, but it might be a little longer than "the tanker incident" so 20usd is fine, no reason to pay extra 10bucks on a preview... is a hell lot better than another trailer... i hope kojima SUBMERGES after this release and then a complete blackout of info until release...

RE: Metal Gear Solid 5 Ground Zeroes Spring 2014 Release
...The 2nd MGS5 Game could very well be released in 2015 Frankaster but for the moment a release date for MGS5 The Phantom Pain is speculative at best. And yes I agree that for a time their will be a blackout on MGS5 The Phantom Pain information so 2015 sounds like a possible launch Year just as 2016 does.

RE: Metal Gear Solid 5 Ground Zeroes Spring 2014 Release
We have a clue as to the game's length. Kojima said that there's a ranking reward to play the game in the fastest time with no kills/alerts etc. and that's 2 hours. So basically a speed run takes 2 hours, so likely we're getting 4-5 hours of average length strictly if we stay on the main story mission without Side-Ops.

"For example in a Ground Zeroes mission, you have this mission you have rescue Chico [formerly a child soldier in Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker], and a challenge within that is to clear it with no kills, no alerts, or within two hours. That’s really something that makes a huge difference in how the player perceives the whole mission."

A KP guy over at GAF was explaining some things. The big surprise turns out to be that all RISING DLC is free. Also the reason they are not putting it on the disc in a new release is to avoid re-cert time & fees.

This re-cert thing is likely also the reason behind a disc-less version of next gen GZ, to avoid additional re-cert fees/production specifically for the new consoles. Going digital only is easier, though if there is demand, they could press next-gen discs, but for now they probably don't feel the audience will be big enough to be worth the additional costs. Makes sense. As to why those are $10 more for digital, I don't know... Maybe Kojima had to scramble more last minute to get a next-gen version, so it cost more internally? A lot seems to indicate that Kojima had no intention of putting MGSV on next-gen, but the late development cycle probably forced his hand. The troubled dev length of FOX is likely also why we're getting staggered 'episodic' releases like this, because Kojima wants to make FOX right, but also has to responsibly create revenue for Konami.
