Ground Zeroes Rated 'M'. Rape confirmed.
The rating summary for “Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes” has been revealed by the Entertainment Software Rating Board. According to a listing update from the organization on Jan. 5, the upcoming video game received a “Mature” rating due to blood, gore, intense violence, sexual violence and strong language.

Other details of note:

- Audio file of woman being sexually assaulted by men, clothes being torn. Cussing. Is this related to Paz or Quiet or just an aside?

- Scene from trailers of Big Boss and soldiers pulling Peace package out of Paz's intestines is in Ground Zeroes. So we can conclude that we will at some point find and rescue Paz in Ground Zeroes's main story mission.

Interesting. Hopefully we get to see the destruction of mother base.

Also, pretty much nobody cares about this game. Kind of a bummer and is making me think TPP will sink like a rock when it is released

Nobody cares because it's a prologue to a game with an indeterminate release date. Everyone will buy it because it's a showing of the power of the next-gen consoles, since it's being released during the slow time before E3.

I speak English, Japanese, and Spanish... I still have no fucking clue what you just said.

Censored at least, fuck I don't know maybe it'll pass through untouched who can tell with our ratings board now days. Maybe rape is cool with them though, just as long as it isn't an alien anal probe or drugs giving someone super powers because they HATE that.

The South Park game needed to have a joke about a quickie home abortion and references to the Cartman gets an anal probe episode censored in order to be released.

Cowards.

I jerk off to a zombie "teen" from a video game. But I don't think I'm a necrophiliac pedophile...

This is only the prologue...

The rape scenes in MGSV: The Phantom Pain will be 100 times bigger and more visceral.

To be fair, Kojima's really asking for it.

Asking for it, as in, "Please call me an apologist for rapists,"-asking for it? Honestly I think Kojima-san's just trying to provide a proper portrayal; rape happens in war, and sometimes it's only proper that people are shown stuff like this, even if it's sickening.

As for how they will portray the rape is another story, though, and I don't know how that will go. If he's aiming to portray it head-on in the game, in all its gratuitous detail, then we might have a problem. Not that I'll complain, 'cause I'm not stupid to think "Hurr-hurr this is hawt," or such. Though, speaking from recent experience, hopefully it won't be as detailed as, say, the first thirteen pages I saw of The Light of Tsukimi Manor, though that's sort of a different topic. Oh, and don't read that shit; trust me.

RE: Ground Zeroes Rated 'M'. Rape confirmed.
Anita whatsherface is still very very upset
https://twitter.com/femfreq/status/423162318243913728

Feminist chick is looking to stir more controversy speaking from a soapbox of total ignorance.

From Quiet's clothes to this... Indeed Kojima could've unveiled this better than to tweet how much sexier he wanted Quiet's ass to look, but some of the complaints are completely unmerited.

- Kojima is trying to touch upon a bunch of hard edged taboo subject matter in gaming by bringing to the forefront all the tragedies and realities of war and ethnic conflict, from racism to yes, rape and subjugation of women. Anita is apparently too naked on her horse to think about this for a second.

- We still don't kow the contextual situation with regards to Quiet and her clothing. I offered an idea here. But how do we even know that this is how Quiet will be dressed throughout the game? We see her being tortured earlier, which would mean that her state of dress we see was done to her because she was beaten; also humiliation is part of psychological torture. In reality her breasts would be completely exposed. Kojima opted to keep her bra on so even Kojima isn't willing to go that far.

- Metal Gear brings serious subject matter to the forefront, but still delivers it through a vehicle of action entertainment, much like other forms of entertainment in movies, anime and comic books. There is reality, then there is also unrealistic spectacle. We got an article earlier where Quiet's outfit was shown to actual women in the military who called it completely unrealistic, but no shit! Even assuming this was Quiet's usual mode of dress, we're talking about a game world where there are vampires, electricity producing dudes, artificial intelligence and psychics. Were our two military women informed about the nature of the game? Has Metal Gear ever sold itself as being a total accurate description of reality? This is like saying nobody can draw anything about vigilantism, politics, sexuality and the Cold War from Watchmen because it has a big blue naked dude in it and Silk Spectre is too sexily dressed.

If feminists want to go on a witchhunt to fix the very things they started themselves by supporting porn and unethical sexual liberation as being 'empowering' to women, it'd be nice if they at least were familiar with the Metal Gear games and the context amidst their own hypocritical crusades.

Not to mention Konami isn't selling the game on 'rape.' This rape things was only revealed by the ESRB because that information needs to be disclosed, not Konami. And for all we know this is tucked away into some audio file/codec that we might never even come across as part of the usual progression. Hardly something we can call Konami leveraging as part of its promotion.
