Forum Design
It's hard to put it into words, but I think the design is not doing the forum many favours, it's not inviting. Maybe it's just my browser or resolution, but it feels busy and crowded.

Technically surely well done and everything and lot of work went into it. Maybe a cleaner more streamlined look easy on the eye might help.

Just my two cents!

I unfortunately do not have the time to do anything like this. The most I can do when I get a little time is to throw an option to use some other basic myBB theme.

RE: Forum Design
It ain't exactly the best. The type is kind of awkward to read; it's a little too tall, and the white kind of hurts the eyes on the darker background. The drop shadows on the quote boxes are a bit much, too. It really fucks the hierarchy of the posts up. But it's whatevs.

"When I first played Metal Gear Solid I was but a boy. Then after watching Snake and Meryl ride off into the sunset I was [SIC] suddenly had six hungry mouths to feed and a pile of bills to pay. Metal Gear ruined my childhood."

I currently have to hit Ctrl and "-" a few times to zoom it out to a readable level. Is it just me?

The type is definitely huge, but not so much that I have to zoom out.

This spews out of the drop box when I mouse over the "forums" button, but only from the main site page:

Once I'm in the forums it gives me a normal box about Avatars, welcome back message, private messages, control panel, etc, etc.

It's done this for a while now, but it doesn't really effect much so I haven't bothered to mention it until now. Dunno if it's just me.

RE: Forum Design
I honestly have no problems with the forum design other then the absolutely retarded way that the private message notification is white writing on a yellow background.

If this counts for part of the theme of this thread, may I be so bold to ask why I can't edit my current signature? It looks as though instead I need to start it from scratch.

I think that's a CSS or Javascript glitch in that you just have to click inside of the textbox for the text to show up.

RE: Forum Design
For some reason on the main page of the forums the Metal Gear thread is often lit up as if there's a new post when there's not.

It's not in any way at all a big deal but was just wondering if anyone else noticed this.

RE: Forum Design
The Metal Gear forum has three subforums (GZ, TPP and Rising). Are you sure there are not any new messages in either of these?

Alternatively, try clicking "Mark this forum read" and see if this problem still persists.

RE: Forum Design
Yeah it keeps doing it. No biggie just weird, Its only just started but it seems I need to go into the main Metal Gear forum after reading everything else even when there's nothing new to read in it to get it to clear.

It's only ever the Metal Gear tab that's marked too.

But meh, it's not a problem just wondered if anyone else had the same thing happening.
