Del Toro has come to Death Stranding along with Mads Magazine

BE RIGHT BACK USING IMAGINATION SINCE NO GAMEPLAY!

Del Toro's baby has come ON to U
[Image: Cyox_Yfo_VIAArf_K4.jpg]

Thoughts -

- Black ooze/water might be the portal to other worlds. Notice how at the start around Del Toro there is only rubble. After black liquid starts flooding in, there are now stranded dolphins.

- Looks like a bunch of body bags are on the tentacle/boney tank. Planes also have 'ropes'

- Mads probably controls all the military stuff and soldiers we see. He's probably the source of the liquid and his tentacles are all over the place. Can also be wireless.

- Upside down rainbow? Either water refraction is also happening due to liquid portal stuff, or maybe Kojima's Open-World Level design takes place within a sphere?

- The baby is connected to Del Toro, but also connected to the baby doll. They both keep one eye open. Probably used the doll for reconnaissance and spotted Mads first. The red lights probably indicate connected/controlled things. Del Toro also sees what baby sees through the doll, knows to avoid Mads.

- DECIMA is probably the Engine name. Kojima will likely confirm details at PSX, either it's using one of or is a mix of what Guerrilla Games and Sucker Punch are using.

There are some 4chan rumors going about. Likely not legit, but if you're interested...
https://imgur.com/hl5xLED

One thing that has been speculated and comes from the leak that might make sense is that Kojima's online component might require cooperation between players around the world to unlock the 'true ending' or something.

This has precedent given what he intended with P.T. and also the nuclear disarmament cutscene unlock from MGSV.

I was like "Oh cool, a wierd WWII sci-fi game." Then fucking Rainbow Six shows up, does the Solid Snake goggle thing, and turns into The Sorrow. Then I was like "Oh, it's just Phantom Pain's Skull Unit."

Yeah, I was totally thinking of Big Boss lifting his goggles from Ground Zeroes there, which of course was a callback to the menu screen in Metal Gear Solid.
Looks pretty weird and interesting. So has any military nut analyzed the uniforms yet to determine what these skeleton soldiers are? I'm guessing they're dead soldiers brought back to life by Mads with his emo running mascara power. I wonder if Del Toro will really be in it, or was it just for fun? You'd think would be a waste to make his model if it's not going to be used, but this is Kojima we're talking about. Even if it is just to show Del Toro's involvement, we can probably imagine seeing a little cameo of him at the very least in it, like how Kojima put himself in GZ and TPP.
I sure wish we could see some gameplay to get a clue as to what the hell this game is going to be like.

They look American GIs to me, and Mads looks like he's wearing Marine Corp gear, but I wasn't really looking too hard.

They sure as fuck aren't Nazis, so that's okay. One more Nazi zombie and I officially re-endorse the reinstating of the final solution.

RE: Del Toro has come to Death Stranding along with Mads Magazine
Soldiers are American. It might be possible that they're being reanimated.

As for Del Toro, we don't know yet what his role is or even if he's just standing in for some other character.

But all signs are pointing at Death Stranding being what Silent Hills might've been intended to be and then some.

I'm guessing these trailers are one-offs that aren't actually cutscenes from the final game, but specifically made to tease ideas that Kojima is putting in the game and wants us to think about.

Gameplay hints may be related to some form of RTS elements... If Mads can control an army, it's possible that in time you might also be able to pull off the same thing.

Also Kojima mentioned that with regards to gameplay, there's a kind of stealth-like approach, but it's more like a hunting-stealth. You are taking an offensive. This rings of similar ideas he wanted to try for MGS4/V as well as the original idea for RISING.

I suspect that like connecting to that doll that you can also hijack the vision of certain inanimate objects, and animals.

Even entertaining some of the 4chan info as speculation, Kojima may be looking into top actors to take up the 5 roles of the beings we see in the sky, who are enemy bosses, Mads being one of them.

If we're trying to piece some kind of story here, probably Del Toro's organization is dealing with time/interdimensional travel when THINGS GO HORRIBLY WRONG, or maybe they stole some kids they found on the other side or something and now Mama's looking for Del Toro.

It's been pointed out that Decima, which is the apparent name of Kojima's engine, come form a ROman goddess -
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decima_(mythology)
"In Roman mythology, Decima was one of the Parcae, or the Fates. She measured the thread of life with her rod. She was also revered as the goddess of childbirth. Her Greek equivalent was Lachesis."

Looking at the Greek equivalent:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lachesis_(mythology)

Lachesis (/ˈlækɪsɪs/; Greek: Λάχεσις, Lakhesis, "disposer of lots", from λαγχάνω, lanchano, "to obtain by lot, by fate, or by the will of the gods"), in ancient Greek religion, was the second of the Three Fates, or Moirai: Clotho, Lachesis and Atropos. Normally seen clothed in white, Lachesis is the measurer of the thread spun on Clotho's spindle, and in some texts, determines Destiny, or thread of life.[1] Her Roman equivalent was Decima. Lachesis was the apportioner, deciding how much time for life was to be allowed for each person or being.[2] She measured the thread of life with her rod. She is also said to choose a person's destiny after a thread was measured. In mythology, it is said that she appears with her sisters within three days of a baby's birth to decide its fate.

According to Hesiod's Theogony, Lachesis and her sisters (Atropos and Clotho) were the daughters of Erebus (Darkness) and Nyx (Night), though later in the same work (ll. 901-906) they are said to have been born of Zeus and Themis.[3] Lachesis is also mentioned in the tenth book of the Republic of Plato as the daughter of Necessity. She instructs the souls who are about to choose their next life, assign them lots, and presents them all of the kinds, human and animal, from which they may choose their next life.

Also interesting...

Lachesis is a genus of pit vipers sometimes called bushmasters. It includes the largest venomous snake in the Western Hemisphere.

SNAAAAKKKEEE!!!!

The colour choice of 'Red' for connected hosts is also of note in Chinese/Japanese Myth.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_string_of_fate

"The Red String of Fate (simplified Chinese: 姻缘红线; traditional Chinese: 姻緣紅線; pinyin: Yīnyuán hóngxiàn), also referred to as the Red String of Marriage, and other variants, is an East Asian belief originating from Chinese legend. According to this myth, the gods tie an invisible red cord around the ankles of those that are destined to meet one another in a certain situation or help each other in a certain way. Often, in Japanese culture, it is thought to be tied around the little finger. According to Chinese legend, the deity in charge of "the red thread" is believed to be Yuè Xià Lǎorén (月下老人), often abbreviated to Yuè Lǎo (月老), the old lunar matchmaker god, who is in charge of marriages.

The two people connected by the red thread are destined lovers, regardless of place, time, or circumstances. This magical cord may stretch or tangle, but never break. This myth is similar to the Western concept of soulmate or a destined flame."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yue_Lao
Yue Lao (Chinese: 月下老人; pinyin: Yuè Xià Lǎorén; literally: "old man under the moon"), is a god of marriage and love in Chinese mythology. He appears as an old man under the moon.

He appears at night, and "unites with a silken cord all predestined couples, after which nothing can prevent their union."[1] He is immortal[2] and is said to live either in the moon[1] or in the "obscure regions" (Yue ming), the Chinese equivalent of Hades.[2]

Yue-Laou (sic) appears as a character in Robert W. Chambers' short story "The Maker of Moons" from the collection of the same name in 1896. He is the leader of Kuen-Yuin, a sect of Chinese sorcerers, and is called "Maker of Moons." He had corrupted "the Xin, the good genii of China" and transformed them into a monstrous composite being: "This monster is horrible, for it not only lives in its own body, but it has thousands of loathsome satellites--living creatures without mouths, blind, that move when the Xin moves, like a mandarin and his escort." In the story, it is revealed that he is the stepfather of Ysonde, and is associated with the pack of gold makers. Although he is apparently killed, his body is never found.

The Moon / Hades as a setting?
The ability to make use of 'satellite' bodies?
Tying people's fates together?

Seems fitting...

Are Del Toro and Norman sharing a baby in different dimensions? Were they both handcuffed together? When Toro 'activates it' the baby disappears from Norman's hands and ends up in Toro's bottle?

RE: Del Toro has come to Death Stranding along with Mads Magazine
I'm the one who asked about the uniforms, so he was answering me. I had a feeling it might have had to do with WW2, I could tell that they weren't Japanese or Soviet, but I don't really know what British uniforms looked like, so I wasn't sure if they were US, British or some other country, also what branch of the military. I actually showed a friend of mine who knows a lot about WW2 and he also told me they were US.

Clotho, Lachesis, and Atropos. Bringing back good memories of Chrono Cross. Also, Neil Gaiman referenced them in Sandman.

I finally got my brother to watch the Death Stranding trailers, and he said that Kojima could have shown this and people would still have claimed that Kojima was a genius and the trailer was brilliant:

RE: Del Toro has come to Death Stranding along with Mads Magazine
Kojima revealed a new version of the trailer at PSX with a different soundtrack. If you thought the cutting was a little odd at TGA, then that's because Kojima cut it to a new Low Roar song and this version makes more sense though it's missing Ludwig's goodness. The reason for two different versions likely had to do with licensing issues for TGA.

Yong noticed some good things

Kojima is releasing a vinyl with Low Roar for the trailer tracks.

Worth mentioning that Low Roar's own I'll keep coming Music Video has an upside down dude in a sheet with black liquid all over the place.

Shit, man, you must work for CSIS.

I mean 'possibly reanimated' as in... you might bring them back to life so that they act on their own as they were - as opposed to - simply being puppets you control directly.

This possibility entertains some gameplay mechanics.

- Find dead soldiers either lifeless or already animated.
- Choose to destroy or hijack using your own tentacles.
- You might be able to 'reprogram' soldier to:
------- change his route
------- attack an enemy
------- stand idle
------- go back to lifeless state
------- hijack his 'eyes'

- Essentially this is a development of MGSV's BUDDY SYSTEM but instead expanded to everything in the world.
- As the game progresses you learn more functions to reprogram soldiers/objects/animals or to expand how many you can control at once.

- Just as we see Mads doing, perhaps you can hijack/connect to 4 soldiers and have them act as your defense/escort/search & destroy party.

I can easily see Kojima building upon the Buddy System of MGSV to give us a sandbox of control where we can rope various things together and mess around with their routines.

-DECIMA is confirmed to be Guerilla's Engine.
-Both Kojima Productions and Guerilla are working together to build upon it.
-Kojima Productions has also opened a satellite Studio in Amsterdam precisely for this reason.
- The name 'Decima' is also the Japanese name of 'Dejima' which is an Island near Japan where the Shogunate set up specifically for trade between the Dutch and Japan. So it's a fitting name.
- Guerilla's Engine never had an official name until the Kojima collaboration.

Guerilla actually gave Kojima a special box with the Source Code.
https://abload.de/img/sourcen3sq8.png

""Killzone: Mercenary is built on top of the Killzone 3 codebase and, at a structural level, much of the framework is identical," he tells us. "Out of the box, the engine supports multiple build targets - PlayStation 3 and PC - so extending to a third platform was relatively painless. Relatively. It's been a long and evolutionary process to get from first drop of the source to finished game."

Del Toro's role is only a body scan. He's too busy to act so he'll be mo-capped and voiced by another actor.

RE: Del Toro has come to Death Stranding along with Mads Magazine
I'm guessig it's another MGSV-style stealth game, and Del Toro's the one you play as without powers, and Mads is the bad guy.

Whatever.

As for Mads' outfit, I was thinking earlier that it was probably a Shinkawa style just slap together random crap that looks cool rather than actually go for authentism...is authemtism a word? Doesn't look roght and I'm low on sleep. Point is that after seeing those photos of Mads, I'm sure he's still a Marine, but necessarily based on an actual Marine. Old 3-colour Desert from the 80s with MOLLE webbing on top and a MICH 2000...not exactly an era-specific design. Also, there's no real soldier or Marina who would ever button up the collar on their combat shirt.

On second examination of the trailer though, it doesn't look they actually used the specific gear he wears in the photos. I'm not talking about added gear either, like the compass or what looks like a drinking tube, but the webbing itself.

He's not wearing body armour either.
