Also, I've been getting friend requests on Facebook from people I don't know and I do appreciate that but instead of being a "friend" on Facebook with a stranger, why not follow me on Twitter or Instagram? @ravicantsingh

I am retiring my role here at The Snake Soup, remaining only as owner and occasional contributor.
No, it's not an April Fools joke. I really am going to take a very limited role here on The Snake Soup as announced on the 30th of March. It's been a good run guys. However, this time was bound to occur sometime, and I have been thinking about this long and hard the past few months and it all makes sense to me.
The Snake Soup has always been a hobby of mine. Among obligations I have made, responsibilities I have taken and the usual socializing in my life, I found much pleasure in discussing the Metal Gear series as much as I had. This pleasure has deteriorated though and I find myself feeling like it is an outright chore to do so these days.
I will be working on having other people contribute at least for news. This will involve a strict manual of style and etiquette as well as a staff of editors. The forums will still be up; No point in letting a community go to waste just because I'm mentally exhausted. Yeah, I'm retired. This is good, isn't it? Time to have some fun! I feel... asleep.
PS: Please don't send me death threats, I'm not Hideo Kojima. Thank you.

Sorry, no update yet. Hey man, I try my best to keep you guys up to date with the latest Metal gear news (with commentary!), leave me alone!
Actually, no, I'd like your help. The Shorty Award nomination process is going on right now. To the best of my knowledge, this is the first year there has been a "fansite" category (although there was a "gaming" category in 2011). So would you please take the time to nominate us using a Twitter account?
I mean, seriously, wouldn't you rather have a Metal Gear fansite that has provided up-to-date news with humorous commentary, myth busting articles and opinionated editorials covering topics ranging from the fictional universe within the games and their creation among other things win this than a Jonas Brothers themed Formspring account?

I'm looking for an artist to work with me to animate what should be at most a five minute clip related to Metal Gear. I have a script and already have the voice work done. I don't care what you use as long as I can work with it. I'm perfectly fine with Flash. You will be able to work on this until summer at the earliest. Please drop me a line at [email protected] if you're interested, along with a sample of your work attached or linked to. If you know someone who may be interested, pass this on.

This site looks grand at a resolution of 1280 x 1024 pixels. It still looks
pretty damn good in 1024 x 768. It has been designed for Firefox 3.5, Internet
Explorer 8, and Opera 9.
