Solid Snake getting ready to fuck some Gurlukoviches up.
|
USP
Used by: Olga Gurlukovich,
Solid Snake
CONTENTS:
DESCRIPTION
9mm auto.
"USP" means Universelle Selbstladepistole! ...or rather, Universal Self-loading
Pistol. It works pretty much the same as the SOCOM handgun but I guess this was
thrown in to spice things up with German-made handguns or something. However, the
USP does have a light attached to it, which does little more than make Snake look
cool in the dark Tanker holds and get spotted more easily.
USE IN THE TANKER

Pregnant bitches with guns = disaster.
|
Olga Gurlukovich has one handy on board the U.S.S. Discovery on August 8, 2007
and used it to fight Solid Snake.
After getting knocked the fuck up (figuratively
speaking, as she already was literally) Snake decided that, since he was armed with
an M9 modified to fire only tranquilizer darts, he should take this gun with him.
A nearby U.S. Army Cypher took a picture of Snake holding the USP and looking at
Olga in a way that portrayed him as a terrorist who shot down a female Marine. This
picture spread all over the media later and was used as evidence to show
Philanthropy as a terrorist group.
However, the USP became of some use later as a quick and effective way to destroy
some control units for some detection lasers that would have set off some plastic
explosives. The USP also was probably used to kill a bunch of Gurlukovich soldiers
in the Taker holds who spotted Snake... unless, of course, Snake managed to take
them all out with tranquilizers...
USP THROUGH THE YEARS
The Tanker Incident (2007)

Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty (2001)
The USP can be attached with a silencer. Interestingly enough, some
versions of Sons of Liberty did not have a silencer to be found. Other versions
of Sons of Liberty in addition to all versions of Substance do have a silcner
available--although it's totally out of the fucking way.

INTERESTING FACTS
-
The USP is NOT Olga's weapon of choice. Her weapon of choice, the PSS (Pistolet
Sptsialnyj Samozaryadnyj)* was thrown overboard when she
was held up by Snake. The USP was pulled out as a last resort against Solid
Snake.
-
In some versions of Sons of Liberty and all versions of Substance, the USP
Suppressor can be found in the crow's nest near the Thermal Goggles upon completing
the Tanker Chapter once.
-
Your medicine cabinet is full of USP items if you live in the United States
and use mostly-legal medication.
APPEARANCES
*Thanks to
Sgt. Gross
for figuring out what the fuck that gun was.
