Peace Walker Japanese PSP bundles detailed

Posted on January 21, 2010 09:26 am

Famitsu revealed that we will be seeing a Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker bundle, at least in Japan. The Limited Edition bundle will be exclusively sold on the Japanese KonamiStyle website.

It seems like the lack of a PSPgo bundle is pretty much confirmed as the only two bundles listed include a camouflage PSP-3000. Was Sony hesitant to make a camouflaged PSPgo? Or was it laziness? While the fact that the PSPgo does not take UMDs could be taken into consideration, it should be noted that it would have still been possible for them to had included a PSN voucher to download Peace Walker. Then again, fuck the digital download-only market and their heavily inflated prices.

The bundle shown above includes the PSP-3000, PSP carrying case, strap, microfiber cloth, and this patch:

There is another, more expensive Limited Edition bundle that includes everything in the cheaper one except it has a snakeskin PSP carrying case, some sort of plaque thing, and dog tags.

There are only 1,974 available. GET IT CUZ THE GAME TAKES PALCE IN 1974 LOL. Unfortunately, the stone and rusted pipe background shown in some of the snapshots above are simply not included.

Here's the boxart for the Japanese version of Peace Walker. What's interesting is the "PlayStation Network" logo on the top. Does it mean additional content? Will ad-hoc force users to utilize PSN even though technically there's no need? Or will there actually be full online infrastructure? Nonetheless I don't really think much of the boxart but I'm sure the 13 year-old male audience will eat up CG-Big-Bossu.
